If there’s ever a time when my skin needs a little extra hydration, it’s winter. Lately, I’ve noticed that my makeup isn’t lasting as well throughout the day, so when Beauty Pie offered to send in its Triple Hyaluronic Acid range for review, I jumped at the chance. Here’s how it went…

What sets it apart

With one unit sold every three minutes and almost 8,000 5-star reviews, this range comes with a fair bit of hype. The hero ingredient? The Triple Hyaluronic Acid blend (THA). For the unfamiliar, this skincare addition might sound intense (“acid?!” I hear you say?) but it’s actually a hardworking hero: hydrating, plumping, and smoothing your skin, all at the same time.

The blend of three advanced Hyaluronic Acid molecules helps replenish your skin’s own Hyaluronic Acid reserves, and it suits every age and every skin type. Layer the products together or wear them individually.

All sounds pretty great, right? So let’s put it to the test….

The serum

This is the serum that started it all. Beauty Pie briefed an exceptional Swiss skincare lab to create their original, iconic Lipopeptide
Serum – and since it launched, it’s never been out of their top 10 bestsellers list.

As someone who hasn’t previously seen the benefits of hyaluronic acid – and, admittedly, perhaps I hadn’t been applying it correctly – I was hesitant about this product, but spoiler alert: this has been a game-changer for me.

Use this as the first step in your skincare routine, after cleansing. I apply 1-2 pumps to a still-wet, freshly cleansed face (hyaluronic acid absorbs best when your skin is still wet). It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling nice and bouncy. If you shop one item from this range, make it the serum.

The moisturiser

As someone whose skin can be both dry and oily – the joys of combination life! – I was really pleased to discover that this moisturiser has more of a lightweight gel consistency than a thick cream (which can break me out). The formula is super smooth and I noticed my skin feeling instantly more hydrated, especially underneath makeup.

Once I’ve applied moisturiser, I don’t want to be ‘aware’ of it – I simply want it to soak into my face and let me move on to my sunscreen, and this does just that. My skin felt hydrated and looked dewy – big fan.

The eye cream

Eye creams are something I’m not super vigilant with, which is code for: it’s the step that often can’t be bothered with. But since I’ve noticed the most dryness around my eye area, this cream was the universe’s way of telling me to give it another go, so I did.

I enjoy how, just like the moisturiser, this cream is super hydrating without being ‘thick’. It also layers particularly well underneath my concealer, which helps ensure even application and coverage. As they say, great makeup starts with solid skincare.

Face mask

I’ll be honest, sheet masks aren’t part of my regular routine, but I can still see why people enjoy them. As soon as I applied this one, there was a key difference to masks I’ve tried before: vents along the exterior, allowing you to cinch it at specific points for a more snug fit. Can confirm, all face masks should have this. I then went one step further and used a small pair of scissors to pull the mask more tightly around the bridge of my nose and my brows (and to remove the 2 eyelid patches).

Historically, after using a sheet mask, I can’t wait to wash the product off (as I find it often becomes sticky when left on the skin), but this residue was very lightweight, so I genuinely forgot to rinse it before applying my makeup. For me, that’s a win. Plus, the fact that you get five masks in one pack is good value.

The result

With my skin showing signs of dryness this winter, adding hyaluronic acid to my skincare routine has taken my face from feeling dry and flaky by lunchtime to dewy until the evening. I like how, with this range, you can use the products individually or altogether for a more comprehensive routine. For me, I’m going to continue playing around with different combinations, but I’m honestly really pleased with how glowy and dewy my skin’s looking now.
