A good blazer is a no-brainer when it comes to any functioning wardrobe, and here The Handbook’s Contributing Fashion & Lifestyle Editor, Astrid Carter, rounds up the best currently found on the high street.

It’s the piece that pulls everything together, makes you feel polished, and affords quick and easy dressing when you have little time. I like to think of a great blazer as the top-quality extra virgin olive oil of the wardrobe – quietly doing all the work while taking little of the glory. It can make even the simplest looks of jeans and a white tee feel intentional and so stylish.

The high street has some great options this season, from cinched waists to preppy herringbone, warm wools to menswear-inspired tailoring. Here are the ones I rate…

Woman with long wavy hair, channelling Fashion Editor vibes, wears a light grey High Street blazer, white polo neck, and dark trousers while taking a mirror selfie in a fitting room with clothes hanging on the wall beside her.

Structured Wool-Blend Blazer | £189 | COS

A woman with wavy hair takes a mirror selfie in a changing room, wearing a High Street Blazers checked jacket over a peach top and dark trousers. Various clothes hang on hooks, and a faux fur coat adds Fashion Editor flair to the background.

Tailored Wool-Blend Blazer | WAS £169 NOW £87 | & OTHER STORIES

COS and & Other Stories are two of my go-tos when it comes to high street tailoring.

I love the back detailing on this COS light grey piece – adding interesting detailing to an otherwise quite corporate look.

A person, styled like a fashion editor, wears a black high street blazer over a white shirt and holds a large black handbag. Only the lower part of their face is visible as they stand against a light grey background.

The perfect black blazer can make even the simplest look of jeans and a white tee feel intentional.

Although at a higher price point, I’m always a big fan of Massimo Dutti’s tailoring. This blazer is so good – it’s giving me vintage YSL vibes.

A woman with long hair, styled like a true Fashion Editor, wears a dark maroon high street blazer, a sheer scarf, and blue jeans. She holds a black bag whilst walking in a minimalist room with white walls and black rectangular frames.
A person with long blonde hair wears a cream-coloured High Street blazer and matching knee-length shorts, holding a fluffy, light accessory. The blazer features an asymmetrical design with a decorative brooch near the collar.

Leaning into two big SS26 trends – wrap blazers & brooches – this is perfect in the evening with tailored trousers or make it work for day with barrel-leg jeans.
