With gorgeous new season fashion hitting the stores, I was intrigued to see if the interiors world was looking equally exciting. What I discovered: it’s not just exciting, it’s affordable, too. Here’s to our incredible high street homeware stores, bringing luxe straight to our door.

If, like me, you’re in an endless cycle of decorating, revamping and tweaking – your home, that is – costs can mount up. So when your fave high street shops serve up a tempting selection of designer-esque creations, from chic feature lamps to rattan tables, you can expect the odd squeal of renovator’s joy. Or perhaps you’re renting, then what better way to put a budget-friendly personal stamp on your property?

After a deep dive into all the latest high street homewares, expect lots of neutral shades. We’re talking, creams, browns, blues and greens; the vibe is calm, quiet, even. Think minimalist with a touch of personality, especially the latest Zara x Collagerie collab. It’s colourful, but subtly so; for every bold shade, there’s a natural hue to pare it back. Similarly, H&M currently features sculptured vases, candle holders and ornaments in pure whites, chocolate browns and creams, guaranteed to make a high-end statement (without the high-end price tag).

Next is totally killing it. From its storage stools to the most sophisticated console tables, I’m genuinely blown away. Yes, these are at reasonable price points, but everything also looks so beautiful. New season French Connection is embracing quiet luxury with a bohemian twist. And please note the premium cushion covers for £25, that’s almost a rarity these days. For boutique feels, head to M&S. The brand’s homage to our stripe obsession and the bobble glassware trend is spot on. New season high street homeware is looking really quite brilliant.

Zara & H&M are the places to go for the coolest, most affordable collabs. The most recent being the covetable Zara x Collagerie (the beautifully curated fashion and home site by British fashion experts Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood) featuring soft Mediterranean-inspired pieces. Meanwhile, 8th August sees the launch of the Coqui Coqui x H&M Home. The famed fragrance brand and boutique hotel have joined forces with the high street label to create a luxurious range of homewares.
