From the latest trends to the hottest collabs, our great British high street offers it all. So it’s no surprise that our own Style Editor, Ashling McCloy, has a wardrobe dedicated to some of the most affordable fashion brands. Here she picks out all her favourite new season clothing, that won’t blow the budget…

It’s true, I love high street fashion. Today more than ever. In an ever demanding market, it’s survival of the fittest for some of these brands, and I really don’t want more to slip by the way, under appreciated for their brilliant and often affordable designs. When Topshop closed its real life doors, it felt like an utter travesty. Where else could we go for that one-stop shop for our weekend outfits? Thankfully, asos.com saved the day when it launched Topshop on its online store, but I will forever miss the buzz of the Oxford Street flagship store.

Now, as we teeter on a new season of high street fashion, we’re in for a treat. & Other Stories is a must for tailoring; its belted patch pocket jacket is firmly on my wish list. While over at Cos, I’m already eyeing up its recent drop of cashmere knits, not to mention the brand’s ridiculously luxe accessories. M&S has also continued to impress – did you nab yourself a piece from the Sienna Miller collab? Honestly, the shop once my go-to for knickers and bras, is now right at the top for fashion. I mean, have you seen the citrus tailored trousers? I want.

New season clothing often feels luxurious, especially after a somewhat unpredictable summer so far. However, the label that has taken things to the next level, sneaking up the style stakes, is Mint Velvet. Let’s just say, it’s a store that’s taken me by surprise, but I’m here for it all. From the leopard print dress to the fringed jacket, I’m ready to shop.

H&M, Wide jeans, £24.99

H&M is high street perfection: fashion forward pieces at really affordable prices.

While the bricks and mortar version of Topshop may have disappeared from our actual high streets, the brand lives on in the corner of the internet under asos.com. Loyal fans were not ready to give up the store, and rightly so. Topshop is a failsafe for contemporary style and of-the=moment trend pieces. For me, it’s not just modern, it’s fun, directional and continues to offer something different, and often ageless.
