11 Ways to Enjoy Wimbledon
New balls please, it’s Wimbledon again. But rather than joining a queue that stretches to Morden and back, or desperately trying to break through a human wall twenty bodies thick at an SW19 bar, then here are some ideas for you that will be far more sophisticated and enjoyable.
Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar
Free Flowing Pimms
Wimbledon isn’t Wimbledon without Pimm’s so Gillray’s is letting you swap the bottomless G&Ts in the G&T afternoon tea for free-flowing Pimm’s. Either tuck into a free flowing afternoon tea or strawberries and cream. Go steady though, we all know how deceptive that fruit-filled delight is.

InterContinental London Park Lane
Ginger Ninja
The Intercontinental have combined two of the orangest spirits available, Pimms and Aperol, to create a positively Weasley-level of orange drink. They’ve produced the ‘Deuce Spritz’, which is paired with a chocolate delight they’ve called the ‘Ace dessert’. Deuce Spritz combines Pimms, Brockmans gin, Aperol, cherry bitters, cucumber and watermelon soda. Ace dessert includes a dark chocolate sphere, shaped like a tennis ball, accompanied with a light pistachio dry sponge, vanilla cream, raspberry sauce and strawberries.
Available for Wimbledon fortnight
Where: One Hamilton Place, Park Lane, London, W1J 7QY, United Kingdom

Sofitel London St James
Cheers, Remi!
The terrace at Sofitel St James is the perfect place to relax in central London, especially when you’re clutching one of their Wimbledon Cocktails, created by Head Bartender Remi for the occasion. A refreshing combo of Tanqueray gin, St Germain liqueur, apple and lime juices, and black pepper.
Available throughout July at The St James Bar or terrace

The Petersham
Just Down The A3
The Petersham basks in the tranquillity of Richmond, but in reality it’s only a (admittedly long) stone’s throw from SW19, and makes the perfect escape from all the silliness up in Wimbledon village. Not least because they’re putting on a special Wimbledon Afternoon Tea for the tennis. A quintessential Afternoon Tea with a twist, it’s the latest offering from Head Chef Jean-Didier Gouges and includes Pimm’s jelly and cucumber foam, mini mango ‘tennis ball’ cheesecakes and white chocolate and strawberry tartlets. There will also be a classic selection of finger sandwiches; scones and patisserie including Petersham Victoria sponge, Opera, and fruit cake and, of course, a selection of teas and fizzes.
Available from Monday 2nd July – Sunday 15th July
Where: The Petersham Hotel, Nightingale Lane, Richmond, TW10 6UZ

Skylon
Bottomless Pimms
Skylon’s brunch already is pretty indulgent with the likes of boiled eggs with lobster, truffle and caviar toast and French toast with crispy bacon and sticky syrup on the menu but now they are adding in bottomless Pimm’s and serving up tennis themed cocktails including the Service Ace, just for that extra decadence. So, you can get a little tispy and cheer on Murray and Konta, Pimm’s in hand.
Available at brunch for the first two weeks of July
Where: Royal Festival Hall, London SE1 8XX, United Kingdom

Aqua Shard
All About Strawberries and Cream
Is it even Wimbledon if you don’t have strawberries and cream? No, it’s not. Which is why aqua shard is putting them at the centre of the Wimbledon celebrations. There’s a Wimbledon cocktail made from Pimm’s, white chocolate liqueur, strawberry compote and topped with lemonade and to go with it a pudding made from strawberry pavlova, Champagne sorbet, strawberries and oat crumble.
Available from Monday 2nd July – Sunday 15th July
Where: Level 31, The Shard, 31 St Thomas Street, London, SE1 9RY, United Kingdom

Sanderson Hotel
Yuzu and Bergamot Tennis Balls
The Sanderson have scored a few match points with this picture-worthy dessert that’s for sure. With the clever appearance of a tennis ball, the sphere is made from Yuzu and bergamot, coupled with crispy meringue and fresh in traditional Wimbledon style. Available for Wimbledon fortnight

The Arch London
The Perfect Serve
Whilst the perfect serve might be hard to achieve, it’s certainly not hard when it comes to the afternoon tea version. The Perfect Serve at London’s The Arch will see guests enjoying gingerbread tennis rackets, courts and cakes alongside Pimm’s and cucumber jelly and strawberries and cream. It really doesn’t get much more Wimbledon than this ladies and gents. Available from Monday 2nd- Sunday 15th July
