7 of the Best Christmas Party Venues in North London

It has the potential to go down in office history, being mentioned over the coffee machine for years to come. Reasons for this can vary (insert classic photocopier joke here) but if you’d prefer your office Christmas party to be remembered for simply being one helluva good night then here are some suggestions of where this can happen, all in North London…

The Chapel Bar

Angel (0.4 miles)

What: 3am license and a serious dance floor

Why: Looking for a flexible venue which can hold your event, exactly how you want it? Chapel Bar in Islington can host comedy nights, private dining, networking events and, of course, Christmas parties and have a dedicated in-house team who will happily assist in planning and personalising your ideal night. A 3am license is one of the latest in the area and with DJ equipment, security and bar staff you’ll be good to go. The bar area can hold 180 standing guests and the terrace room (with private bar) has a standing capacity of 80 for a slightly less rowdy affair.

Where: 29a Penton Street, London N1 9PX

ZSL London Zoo

What: If you like your parties a little wild

Why: ZSL London Zoo is the ideal venue for somewhere very memorable, if a little hazy. Choose from four suites ranging in capacity from 50 to 600 and a whole load of upgrade options like a vodka luge, bucking reindeer, animal face painter and the biggest crowd-pleaser of all; a chocolate fountain. Festive fairy-lights, mulled wine (or bubbles) on arrival and a furry meet and greet complete the package. Just don’t think you’re being smart by requesting Jungle to the DJ…

Where: Regent's Park, London NW1 4RY

The Foundling Museum

Russell Square (0.3 miles)

What: Make your own history

Why: For a more intimate dining experience with your colleagues, the Court Room in The Foundling Museum is a historic and unique, and ever so slightly eery location for your Christmas social. The Court Room can sit 30, and The Picture Gallery up to 100 with a few more faces watching you – original art by Gainsborough and Reynolds from the 1740s adorns the walls. Have a snoop round the museum’s four floors (Come Dine With Me style) or be shown round by a guide.

Shaka Zulu

Kentish Town West (0.3 miles)

What: One for the whole team

Why: This 27,000 square foot space in Stables Market has undergone a £5.5 million makeover and can now host events for up to 850 of your most valued employees (hopefully that’s everyone). Chefs in the restaurant prepare world-class international cuisine for an intimate dinner but if you want to go all out then why not hire an artist to perform? A fully equipped green room will get them ready to wow your crowd.

The Cuban

Kentish Town West (0.3 miles)

What: Relaxed Havanan-inspired cocktail bar

Why: Does your budget not quite stretch to trans-Atlantic flights for the whole office? Maybe pay for Ubers instead and transport the team to Camden. The Cuban is a fun cocktail bar set over two floors with Cuban influences, live music and private event hire for 50-250 guests. Exposed brickwork, velvet seating and mojitos straight from Havana make this the place for the more fun and laid-back variety of Christmas party.

RAF Museum

Colindale (0.9 miles)

What: Business class treatment

Why: A more traditional corporate venue, catering for up to 800 guests but in a slightly more unusual venue than the standard hotel ballroom, the RAF Museum are experts in events. Host a party or sit-down dinner in one of the aircraft halls and get up close and personal to the actual aircraft that flew in the Battle of Britain. The staff go above and beyond for you, even helping to arrange off-site accommodation for guests who claim to be particularly ‘nervous flyers’.

Where: Royal Air Force Museum, Grahame Park Way, London NW9 5LL

Dead Dolls House

What: Get all dolled up

Why: Despite what the name may suggest, Dead Dolls House is actually an appropriate venue to hire for a Christmas ‘do. Just as if children have been handed marker pens and set lose on white walls, the venue has a cheeky yet sophisticated feel and can offer private dining and cocktails in various rooms for 20-80 guests. Previous clients include Alexander McQueen, Cath Kidston and M&C Saatchi so they know what they’re doing.

Where: 35 Hoxton Square, London N1 6NN

York & Albany

Camden Town (0.4 miles)

What: Private dining in a stylish townhouse 'Coaching Inn'

Why: A dedicated in-house events team will help you plan your Christmas event from a huge offering; private dining or exclusive hire of the whole venue including bar and terrace, for any number up to 100. Food in this Gordon Ramsay restaurant doesn’t disappoint and if the drinks slip down especially well then there is a hotel above with nine boutique bedrooms.
