Nest is a must-visit neighbourhood restaurant in Hackney offering food worthy of a Michelin. The three school friends who created the concept have created an affordable casual fine dining menu and it’s totally delicious.

Make Sure You Order: It is a set seven course menu so just sit back, relax and enjoy every course!

The Jones Family Project Restaurant & Bar

This charming and independent restaurant and bar was set up by three friends in Shoreditch. It serves up delightful steak from Ginger Pig but the restaurant shows off its versatility with a separate vegan and gluten free menu.

Make Sure You Order: You can’t come here and not try the steak – the rump is an exceptional value for the size and quality. Oh and Anna’s triple chocolate brownie is amazing!

Pizza Union

It’s a real must-visit for superfast 12inch pizzas that are oh, so affordable! What’s more the pizza giants are spread across three London locations so you’ll have little chance at avoiding them – say cheese!

Make Sure You Order: The Calabria (with nduja sausage). It’s incredible, and save room for the dolce for dessert!

Burger and Beyond

This street food fave now has permanent digs on Shoreditch High Street and arguably serves up some of the best burgers in London…

Make Sure You Order: Start off with the lamb nuggers and move on to the delicious bacon butter burger.

Treves and Hyde

This restaurant café and bar in Aldgate East is a dab-hand at seasonal dishes with worldwide influences and happy hour cocktails from 5-9pm.

Make Sure You Order: Red pesto arancini and the pork belly.

Osteria Wolf

Osteria Wolf is a seasonal Italian restaurant and bar in Stoke Newington. Focusing on quality over quantity, the small menu at Osteria Wolf offers fine and simply unmissable Italian dishes.

Make Sure You Order: The delicious Paccheri 12 hour rare-breed beef shin ragu served al dente.

Untitled certainly doesn’t give away much from its name.  The location however is a clue for the category this establishment falls into – a Japanese restaurant and bar in Dalston that’s stylish, inventive and a little bit hip.

Hotbox is an American BBQ specialists near Spitalfields; the meat here is just fantastic with delicious smoky flavours that melt in your mouth available in abundance.

Make Sure You Order: Have a bit of everything with the smoked selection with pork rib, jalapeno chicken thigh, pulledpork, sliced brisket and hotlink sausage.

This rustic BBQ joint in Shoreditch promotes such diverse flavours in every dish so you’d be wrong not to sample a few, and throw another shrimp on the barbie whilst you’re at it!

Make Sure You Order: The beef brisket and that oh so good sticky toffee pudding.

Les Nenettes

Les Nenettes is actually a slang for birds or chicks so we’re told! The restaurant is a female owned and run French restaurant in Clapton that offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in Hackney, serving delicious French cuisine at affordable prices.

Make Sure You Order: The deep fried babybel and duck magret – yep, it’s a thing!
