The Magic Roundabout
Hey Jude: Get To Old Street
Fifty years ago this weekend The Beatles went on their ‘Mad Day Out’ round some of London’s most iconic locations, documented by photographer Tom Murray who has now released a book about the day. One of the locations, Old Street Roundabout, will be commemorating the anniversary this weekend with a new sculpture inspired by Murray’s photograph from the same spot, plus there’ll be drinks, and celebrations including one of the country’s best Beatles cover bands. This is the last summer that the famous plinth will be on show as The Magic Roundabout will be clearing out to make way for the roundabout’s redevelopment, so it’s a chance to experience a piece of history.
