The anticipation of a new arrival is both exciting and overwhelming. Preparation is key. Nothing has to be perfect, but having a corner of your home ready for your little one is all part of the nesting process. So read on for some inspo on the latest nursery decor trends…

In a matter of months, I will be an aunty once again. The baby fever is already at peak levels. Why? Because we have not one baby on the way, but two tiny wee miracles. With both my brother and sister expecting their baby within weeks, I’m taking my role extremely seriously. The first matter at hand is mastering that nursery decor. As it’s been well over a decade since my two minis arrived, I’ve gone into hyper focus to discover the latest designs, trends and furnishings.

The first thing I’ve noticed is that the natural look is big. We’re talking soft wooden details, rattan, bamboo and gentle shades of honey and caramel. Sustainability and craftsmanship are key, with a lean into nature and serene surroundings. Gaia Baby and Scandiborn are the perfect sites to visit for all of the above. For those finishing touches, H&M Home and Zara Home are nothing short of brilliant.

Framed posters or prints will add instant personality and warmth to your baby’s room. Look to H&M for both affordable art and frames.

Fancy a nursery decor theme? Well, woodland creatures and forest landscapes are definitely key inspo for 2025.

Don’t be scared of colour! From vivid yellows to vibrant pops of red, nurseries can be any shade you choose without being overwhelming. Mix with neutral tones to keep an air of calm.

It’s also worth considering the ‘unexpected red’ theory. The viral TikTok trend is “basically adding anything that’s red, big or small, to a room where it doesn’t match at all and it automatically looks better,” said Brooklyn-based interior designer Taylor Migliazzo Simon.

Circus themes and harelquin prints are mega right now, not to mention super quirky and a great way to embrace colour.

If minimal isn’t your thing, consider stripes, murals and vintage accents.
