From Chloé’s signature ruffles and lace to lingerie-coded nightie dresses, dainty velvet ribbons to a sugar-almond palette, fashion is having a major romance moment. Light and breezy, with plenty of natural fabrics and delicate cut-outs, this is easily our favourite trend to see us through balmy (let’s hope!) summers. Scroll to shop our favourite pieces from this season’s romantic trend…

A couple of months back, we wrote about how love is having a renaissance and how romance is suddenly cool again – from big cinematic love stories (we’re looking at you, Wuthering Heights) to celebrity weddings from Dua and Charli, all set to a soundtrack of life-affirming Olivia Dean love songs. Well, like any cultural moment, it’s making its way into our wardrobes, too, with a nod to pieces that feel dipped in love.

We’re talking Chloé-esque ruffles and peekaboo lace, Dôen dresses that feel like vintage lingerie, and sexy, fluid slip dresses by the likes of For Love & Lemons, all of which feel like they should be paired with smudged lipstick and messy hair. It’s a look that’s both dressed up and undone; simultaneously cheeky and glamorous, and, most importantly, perfect for impending London heatwaves.

It’s also a timeless look, meaning investing in high-quality pieces from mid- and luxury brands is worth it. Of course, the high street has fallen hard too, and we’re loving the selection at Free People, Mango, and Zara.

From bloomers to sheer bed jackets, give us anything that feels like vintage lingerie.

Copenhagen-based designer Cecilie Bahnsen is known for her signature layers, voluminous silhouettes, and irreverent charm. We love the mix of airy embroidery paired with a tougher, buckled bodice.

More like an art piece than a bag, it’s no wonder Dua was spotted carrying this sweet swan purse at her recent nuptials.
