All We Know About Coming Of Age Drama, Sterling Point

Love a coming-of-age teen drama? Prime Video’s series Sterling Point could be your next television obsession. Created by actress and filmmaker Megan Park (The Fallout) and executive produced by the team behind Gossip Girl, the coming-of-age drama focuses on Annie (Ella Rubin) exploring first love, family secrets and idyllic summer vibes against the stunning backdrop of a Canadian lake island. Here’s everything you need to know:
What is Sterling Point about?
Sterling Point follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson (Rubin), who has spent her entire life growing up in New York City alongside her twin brother Connor (Keen Ruffalo and their adoptive father (Jay Duplass). However, her world is turned upside down when she learns that her estranged grandfather has left her an island in Canada in his will. What initially sounds like an exciting inheritance quickly proves to be much more complicated than she ever imagined.

Upon arriving at the titular Sterling Point, Annie discovers that the island isn’t exactly empty. Another teenager, Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle), has been living there and believes she has just as much claim to the property. Before long, Annie finds herself immersed in an entirely new world of friendships and romance, but also some long-buried family secrets that have been waiting to come to the surface in shocking ways.
While the series is partly a coming-of-age story, Sterling Point is also about family and the different ways love manifests itself in our lives. It also raises the question of nature vs nurture, and the different momentous choices we make in life. However, the rest of the plot is largely kept intriguingly under wraps.
Is there a trailer, and who else stars?

Prime Video has already released the official trailer, introducing both our main characters, Annie and Connor, as well as how they end up at Sterling Point. It also sets up a key main dynamic between Annie and another girl who appears one night out of the blue and claims that she is the only rightful heir to the island, before both realise that they actually have the same mother. There are also teases of the usual kind of coming-of-age hijinks that you’d expect.
Alongside Ella Rubin and Amélie Hoeferle, the ensemble cast includes Keen Ruffalo, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Bo Bragason, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Jay Duplass, Missi Pyle and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The series is produced by LuckyChap Entertainment, the production company founded by Margot Robbie.
When does it release?
Sterling Point premiered globally on Prime Video on 5 August 2026, with its first season consisting of eight episodes. Make sure to watch the trailer below.
