One of London’s grand old hotels, The Dorchester has lived many lives since the original house was bought in 1792 by the then Earl of Dorchester. And since its opening, it has played host to royal banquets, legendary parties, elaborate afternoon teas, A-list getaways and more.

Now, after last year’s renovations, guests are invited to experience a whole new level of luxury, with ceilings dripping with chandeliers, beautiful floral decor that gives the hotel a lovely summer vibe, and of course charming options for dining and entertaining. We spent a night at The Dorchester, and here’s what we loved:

Stunning interiors

The Dorchester was always stunning – but lately, it’s taken things up a notch by partnering with the legendary interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, to transform the interiors of the hotel. Walk in, and you’ll be treated by an elegant facade, and the lovely Cake & Flowers boutique that was inaugurated last year. Expect sophistication without snobbery, with beautiful, landscaped gardens on the outside, and stunning, stylish interiors that make you stop, stare and linger over the little details from the gilded mirrors to the intricately crafted carpets.

The Dorchester is a place where timeless elegance meets modern luxury, creating an experience that is truly unforgettable.

A renovated spa

The Dorchester Spa has revealed a portfolio of treatments and cutting-edge additions this year, if you’re looking for a dose of pampering. Located underneath The Dorchester, MLX quartz beds and Welnamis relaxation beds have recently been added to the spa. One of London’s best hotel spas, there are treatments available from brands like ishga, Valmont and Carol Joy London, while the spa continues its collaboration with Dr Uliana Gout of London Aesthetic Medicine.

Redesigned rooms and suites

With 180 rooms, 57 suites, two penthouse suites, one rooftop suite and one royal suite, a stay at The Dorchester is not one you’ll forget in a hurry. The rooms and suites have been redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon, and they are cosy and inviting, thoughtfully composed with fresh and light interiors inspired by English gardens. From pale leaf green rose fog pink to heather blues and lemon yellows, the rooms and suites represent real decadence without losing the touch of comfort. Plus, there are new signature and junior suites that pave the way for more residential-style accommodation.

Every detail has been well thought out, and the renovation has seamlessly blended its storied charm with contemporary luxury, offering an experience that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

Elevated dining experiences

The hotel has a fabulous array of dining options, including The Grill by Tom Booton, The Dorchester’s fabled modern British restaurant, that’s all about creative, ingredient-led cooking. And with three Michelin stars, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester offers contemporary French haute cuisine that makes for a truly luxe dining experience. The Artists’ Bar, (home to a stunning original Liberace mirrored piano) is a new 2023 addition, while The Promenade and the Bond-inspired Vesper Bar were also revamped recently, and make excellent fine dining and drinking spots where everything from the champagne to the entertainment, really sparkles.
