Everything We Know About Netflix’s The Gentlemen Season 2

One of last year’s most-watched TV shows had to be the crime comedy The Gentlemen. Netflix has greenlit another season, so Eddie Horniman’s exploits in the criminal underworld will be further explored in Season 2. Here’s all we know about it so far, including a very exciting casting announcement.
Where did The Gentlemen Season 1 leave us?
The second season will reunite [profile-link]Theo James[/profile-link] as Eddie and much of the same cast of Season 1, along with creator Guy Ritchie. A quick recap might be in order of the events of last season, for those who need a refresh: we’re introduced to Eddie Horniman, who’s surprised to find that he’s inherited the estate of his late father, along with the swanky title of the Duke of Halstead.

It’s revealed to him that the several thousand hectares of the estate are being used for a marijuana empire and that he’s now, as a result, part of the criminal underworld. Unfortunately, other gangsters want a piece of the pie and try to make a hostile takeover. By the end of the eight episodes (spoiler alert), Eddie manages to solidify his hold over both his estate and the entirety of the weed business run by the ruthless Susie Glass ([profile-link]Kaya Scodelario[/profile-link]).
So, what’s next?
We know for sure that both Theo James and Kaya Scodelario will be coming back for the second season, along with Daniel Ings (Freddy Horniman, Eddie’s coke-addicted brother in the show). An in-depth plot reveal has yet to be announced by Netflix, but it would appear that the series will further explore the world of British crime that Eddie has now become accustomed to. He and Susie are now co-owners of the drug empire, and they’ll be looking to expand the business, make money and move into other areas, as well as fending off anyone looking to make moves against them.
Joining the cast for season 2 will be Hugh Bonneville (The Agency), Benjamin Clementine (Dune), Benedetta Porcaroli (The Leopard, Amanda), Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favour), Sergio Castellitto (Conclave), Amra Mallassi (Dune: Part Two), Tyler Conti (Safe)and very excitingly, Love Island presenter, Maya Jama.
It was also announced that the show has begun filming, but has moved from England to Italy – but that’s all we know for now.
When will it be released?
It’ll likely be a while to wait for The Gentlemen Season 2– but for now, you can watch (or rewatch) the first season over on Netflix.
