How do you like yours? Rosé wine is officially in favour, and whether you prefer a fruity pink, flowery notes, or a hint of melon, there’s a dress solution to match every grape. Thanks to its trendy millennial pink hue, you can now perfectly pair your favourite go-to summertime wine with anything from a charcuterie pink puff sleeve dress to a pair of strawberry slides – alfresco has never looked rosier.

This season we’re staging a colour rebellion, of sorts. It feels quite natural after months of leisure wear and pared-back wintery hues to come out all anti-neutral, in all shades of girly and attention-grabbing pinks. Besides, every summer, amongst all the colour trends, pink emerges in one form or another. Baby, bubblegum or bright it’s definitely a key ingredient to more colourful months ahead. It’s warm, it’s jolly and its happy sentiment is exactly the kind of wardrobe tonic we need.

From the barely-there hue that’s guaranteed to match your Côtes de Provence to the full-bodied tone to compliment your Pinot Blush or Roija – the spring summer catwalks were simmering with pretty shades of pink. Needless to say, Instagram has been dishing out inspiration in plentiful quantities, too. Hailey Bieber in a bubblegum pink bikini, Kendall Jenner in Love Shack Fancy’s pink rose frock, and @heartzeena in a Baum & Pferdgarten boiler suit. The latter declaring every Wednesday ‘Pink Wednesday’ because it “never fails to bring joy”.

Now, any remenants of fashion snobbery towards all variations of this sweet hue (Miranda Priestly would never have approved millennial pink) is going down with Covid. Colour (again, mostly pink) is emerging victorious in fashion’s new feminine and frivolous mood, and we’re embracing it with open arms. Basically, the same way we embrace rosé when the sun comes out. Drinking pink and wearing pink is the double serotonin shot you never knew you needed.
