It’s wedding season, and so, keeping up with all things marriage, we’ve decided to put together a list of a few of our favourite TV weddings. The highs and lows of bubbling on-screen romances, the last-minute twists that make you wonder if it’ll finally happen- there’s nothing quite like seeing your fave TV couple tie the knot.

1. Monica & Chandler – Friends

No TV weddings list would be complete without Friends, and while there are a few to pick from, it’s Monica and Chandler’s for us. The couple defines the phrase “Will, they won’t, they?” and after several seasons of building romance, the couple finally tie the knot. Things are nearly derailed by Chandler’s last-minute cold feet. Monica, determined as ever, pushes forward despite the stress, supported by Rachel and Phoebe, while Ross tracks Chandler down and reassures him. By the time he returns, it’s clear just how committed he is, and one of TV’s most loved couples is finally cemented.

2. Charlotte & Harry – Sex And The City

Charlotte and Harry’s wedding in Sex and the City is a turning point for Charlotte’s character, marking her shift away from perfectionism toward something more genuine. After converting to Judaism for Harry and briefly breaking up over his reluctance to marry, Charlotte finally gets her happy ending. There are a few mishaps with ripped dresses, wine spills, and Harry being unable to break the glass, as is Jewish tradition. But eventually things work out, their ceremony is intimate and deeply emotional, and there’s a theme of whether a wedding needs to really be “perfect” when you have each other.

3. Charlene & Scott – Neighbours

Before her pop stardom, Kylie Minogue came to fame on Neighbours, opposite Jason Donovan in a matchup for the ages. Charlene (Kylie) and Scott (Donovan)’s wedding in Neighbours is one of the most iconic soap moments in TV history. Their storylines proved hugely popular, meaning a wedding was always going to be a big deal. Watched by millions, the episode features Charlene arriving in a now-legendary wedding dress, as the pair exchange vows in front of friends and family. The ceremony is heartfelt and sincere, capturing the innocence and optimism of young love. It also helped ensure Neighbours would remain on our screens for years to come.

4. Daphne & Simon – Bridgerton

A big part of Bridgerton’s first season, Daphne and Simon’s wedding also feels like one that can’t be missed, given the pairing’s contribution to Bridgerton’s success. Set against the lavish backdrop of Regency-era London, the ceremony follows a whirlwind and somewhat scandal-driven engagement. Their wedding reflects this tension, mixing romantic imagery with unresolved emotional stakes. It’s also definitely a must-watch for anyone planning a big ceremony of their own, given how lavish and grand it is- even if you can’t get the Regency setting, you can still emulate the visual style. As for Daphne and Simon themselves? The pair move from their romantic yet complicated courtship into a full-blown marriage, and set the benchmark for other Bridgerton couples to follow.

5. Cam & Mitch – Modern Family

Cam and Mitch’s wedding in Modern Family is a real fan favourite and a long time coming. After years together, the couple finally get their moment, with some important LGBT+ representation on TV. This being Modern Family, there are a few hitches, though: a wildfire forces them to relocate their ceremony, leading to a last-minute scramble and added logistical problems. Despite the chaos, the day comes together as the two finally become spouses. Surrounded by their loved ones, Cam and Mitch’s wedding is both funny and touching, celebrating not just their relationship but the importance of family (the clue’s in the name!).

6. Smithy & Nessa – Gavin & Stacey

In the Gavin & Stacey finale (the proper one in 2024), Smithy’s wedding ends up truly dramatic when he realises that he simply can’t go through with marrying Sonia. Despite everyone being there and how Sonia will react, he follows his heart and decides to leave the altar, making a dramatic dash to find Nessa instead, whom he still loves. Their long, complicated relationship, built on years of banter, tension and unresolved feelings, finally comes to a head in this one big moment. Eventually, the two do finally get married as the series reaches its close, in just as loving yet unconventional a way as you’d expect.
