These UK-based artists feature quite prominently in our daily work playlist, so we thought we’d share the joy, because who doesn’t love discovering new music? From sweet, soulful melodies from Jasmine Jethwa to great beats from Master Peace, see our picks of the UK artists to have on your radar:

Rachel Chinouriri

English singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri is one of those artists whose music feels like a friend. An indie artist who has sold out iconic London venues like KOKO, Chinouriri has had Florence Pugh appear in the music video for her single Never Need  Me and even Adele has said she’s going to watch her live. Her debut album What A Devastating Turn of Events is a defining indie track that seriously cements her authority in the genre.

If you’re looking for music to sing along to, dance around the house or just scream in the car, James Smith has something for all of the above. The London-based singer-songwriter has just released his first-ever album with some real bangers. Molly is a great song to sing along to, or if you want to slow it down there’s the soulful Somebody To You that Smith wrote with actress Nadia Parkes.

Paris Paloma

Derbyshire-born Paris Paloma‘s song Labour skyrocketed when she released it in 2023. The song reached the UK Top 40 list and has more than 170m streams on Spotify. Some have even called her the successor to Florence + the Machine. There’s an essence of gothic feminity in her lyrics that makes you want to pay attention to what she’s saying and chant them along with her. Paloma started writing songs when she was studying for a fine art degree at Goldsmiths, London, and as a result, her work is heavily influenced by classic literature.

Her debut album Cacophony explores the intersection of chaos and creation through 15 great tracks. For days when you want to sing about smashing the patriarchy – Paris Paloma’s music is for you.

He was also nominated at the Independent Music Awards in the best music video category for his song I Might Be Fake feat. Georgia. She grew up in a musical family in east London, but she decided to start singing professionally much later in life. The Royston Club

Tom Faithfull, Ben Matthias and Dave Tute are old school friends who formed The Royston Club with the addition of drummer Sam Jones. Early rambunctious shows within Wrexham and the surrounding area established a devoted local following, and their initial self-released demos and singles soon started taking their local following into an international fanbase.

The Welsh four-piece saw their songs Shaking Hips and Crashing Cars fire to #16 on the UK Official Album Charts, followed by some big moments including selling out London’s KOKO and playing at Glastonbury. (We hear Wrexham’s other local superstar Ryan Reynolds is also a fan).
