Dreaming of hazy days and foreign shores? Can’t wait to escape the office? So why not inject a little holiday style into your very own home? We can’t guarantee the sunshine, but we can definitely guarantee some of the most stylish global interiors inspiration for a little midweek mood boost.

Scrolling through social media it’s hard not to drool over pics of lavish hotels and luxe locations across the globe. Well, why let others have all the fun? While the budget may not stretch to a five-star resort, we can certainly add a bit of that luxury to our own abodes with vacation-inspired homewares. Thankfully there are numerous small boutiques and high street stores running with the whole holiday-at-home theme. From hammocks to sun loungers, colourful glassware to arty ceramics, there are so many pieces we can add to transform our garden, kitchen or living room into a Mexican casa or Italian palazzo.

Obviously, we couldn’t wait to research. Picking four of this year’s hottest destinations, we’ve curated a guide to the best dream holiday-inspired homewares.

Mallorca

Interiors Inspo: Boho Lifestyle

For those craving calm, lean into the soft rustic vibes of this mystical Balearic island. Renowned for its handcrafted furnishings, transform your home with basketry and woodwork, muted tones and bohemian soft furnishings. Mallorcan interiors epitomise escapism, the art of slow living and a return to nature. So if everyday life is wearing you down and a farflung trip is out of the question, think about embracing your inner hippie and give your interiors a little Spanish makeover. Simple, unrefined and magical… all we need is the sunset.

One of the hottest destinations for 2023, Mallorca is the Balearic beauty inspiring our summer decor. From rustic architecture to bohemian touches; terracotta pots to handwoven baskets, the look is earthy, warm and welcoming.

Mexico

Interiors Inspo: Tropical Fiesta

If tacos, tortillas and tropical backdrops are your thing, then this is the edit for you. Bold, vibrant shades dominate, with heavy folklore and cultural influences running throughout. Picture al fresco dining, swinging in a hammock with a cocktail in hand or tucking into a hand painted bowl of the freshest guacamole; we call this perfection. From Graham & Green’s Mexicana collection to Maison Margaux cactus margarita glasses, we’re ready to bring the fiesta to our back garden.

The Verana boutique hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is an authentic experience. Designed by set designer Heinz Legler and decorator Veronique Lievre, this Mexican retreat is set within the jungle and is completely magical. The colour-block walls and local artworks are enough to inspire any home redesign.

Greece

Interiors Inspo: Rustic Relaxation

A recurring go-to for stylish sunseekers, it’s no surprise we’re all hooked on hummus. The country is picture perfect, famed for ouzo and olives, rugged landscapes, turquoise seas, and endless sandy beaches. As for the decor, it’s all about whitewashed walls, blue accents and natural furnishings. Again, the feeling is relaxed and laid-back, with an open invitation for long lunches in the shade. Simply add potted olive trees, baskets and pale blue cushions to instantly transport you back to Crete. Plus, with the third instalment of the now iconic My Big Fat Greek Wedding out this September, there’s no surprise we’re crushing on those Greek interiors. Bring on the dolmades and dancing. Opa.

Italy

Interiors Inspo: Flamboyant Mediterranean Glamour

For The White Lotus fans, the resurgence of maximalist Mediterranean style is of little surprise. Classic Sicilian vases known as testa di moro feature heavily within the show and we’re obsessed. The look is all about drama and statement; colours are gaudy yet fabulous. There is nothing too much or too showy for La Dolce Vita. With an Italian nonna’s kitchen at the heart of the whole look, Skye McAlpine’s Tavola is a must for Venetian-inspired tablescapes. Alternatively, we’re also loving La Signore x The Houseful collection of ceramics, hand made and hand painted in Italy by master ceramists. Anyone for a limoncello?
