7 Lovely Hotels In Brighton To Book

From its cosmopolitan vibes and colourful lanes, to its diverse food and lively culture scene, Brighton is a city that has always been vibrant, buzzy and exciting. Not to mention that it’s right by the sea, so when the sun is beating down on the shoreline, you could mistake it for somewhere abroad. Even in the winter, there’s a charm about the pretty coastal city, and it’s the perfect spot to visit for a quick weekend getaway from London.
The Grand

Brighton’s flagship hotel, which is as iconic as the seaside itself, The Grand is home to the best seaside views in the city. It boasts stunning views overlooking the two piers, stretching out beyond the sea and wind farm, providing the perfect space to while away your afternoon looking out at the shore. From its luxury sea view rooms to its traditional afternoon tea that’s not to be missed, The Grand plays host to the best hotel experience in the seaside city. For a stay that’ll last a lifetime, book in for one of their deluxe sea view rooms – these are spacious, filled with neutral interiors and a cosy balcony looking out to sea.
If you want to fall asleep to waves crashing against the pier and wake up to interrupted views of Brighton Pier, there really is no better place to stay

Brighton is home to some great independent eateries, but for a date night, look to the hotel’s restaurant, Cyan. There’s an extra side room styled like a greenhouse, looking out to the sea, and by night, it provides the ultimate space for sipping cocktails and intimate conversations. Led by head chef Antonios Markiou, the restaurant champions the best of seasonally-inspired dishes. I highly recommend the maple-glazed pork belly for a main and the king prawns for a starter; both were absolute highlights. I recently escaped here with the family, and have to say it is the most iconic, perfectly situated Hotel in Brighton. The rooms were spacious, service was brilliant, and I went to bed with the sound of waves crashing in the background.

Artist Residence

Artist Residence has taken the best aspects of Brighton – its eccentricity, creativeness and boho vibes – and brought them to life through its interiors. From the outside, you could mistake Artist Residence as any other townhouse on Regency Square, but inside, it brings the city to life through its art and hipster design. Home to 24 rooms, all of which are filled with original artist murals, vintage and reclaimed furniture, and some even boasting views out over the West Pier (the burnt down structure for those who aren’t locals or regular Brighton frequenters). The hotel’s onsite restaurant and cocktail bar is the perfect place to start your morning or cosy into one of the chairs and wind down for the evening with a nightcap. The High Tide Sour, with vodka, pineapple, coconut and Aperol, is a personal favourite.

124 Brighton

Perched right by the sea, this boutique escape blends breezy coastal charm with a quiet kind of romance. Inside, the brand-new Field Trip Spa is a little world of calm and perfect for some pampering. By evening, it’s all about golden-hour dinners on the terrace, strolls along the promenade, and nightcaps at the bar. The seafront location and the hotel’s dedication to celebrating the best of Brighton’s culture are what set 124 Brighton apart. There are 32 rooms and suites of different sizes, some with balconies and glorious sea-facing views. The biggest suite of all is the Hideout Suite which has its own entrance, lounge, hot tub and secret passage into the hotel. The windows let the light stream in, and the room is designed for gazing outside. There are even binoculars on the little coffee table great for bird, beach or people watching.
When it comes to facilities, the hotel is equipped with just what you need for a break whether it’s a midweek workation (take your laptop to the lounge) or a romantic weekend getaway (curl up on the sofa chairs near the fireplace).

Harbour Hotel

With sweeping sea views and just moments from the buzz of Brighton, Harbour Hotel Brighton offers an effortlessly stylish escape from London. Set proudly on the city’s iconic promenade, the hotel sits steps from the pebbled beach and places the best of Brighton’s bohemian spirit right on its doorstep. Beneath the streets, a hidden subterranean spa—housed within former smuggler’s tunnels—invites guests to slow the pace, submerge below the city and emerge restored.

The Ginger Pig
A little further out of central and over to Hove, you’ll find The Ginger Pig, a top pub and inn that’s home to 11 en-suite double bedrooms. The Ginger Pig is very much about the restaurant, serving up traditional, refined dishes sourced from Sussex’s top suppliers. All of the menus are inspired by the season and the surrounding areas. The rooms, spread over two floors, follow the Ginger philosophy. The interiors are simple, modern and understated, but deliver on the comfort front by the hordes.

Hotel Una

Another hotel that’s less than a five-minute walk from all of the action is Hotel Una on Regency Square. Independently owned, the hotel is home to 20 quirkily designed bedrooms and suites. Despite being recently converted, the Regency townhouse still boasts some of its original features, including the sash windows, stone fireplaces and coving, but ties them together with modern and artistic furniture. For those wanting a relaxing experience, book in for one of their spa rooms. The Belize room is our favourite, home to its very own whirlpool bath and sauna.

Hotel du Vin & Bistro

Part of the wider group, Hotel du Vin & Bistro is located just off the seafront on Ship Street. The exteriors look as though they’d fit perfectly in a quaint countryside village, but can in fact be found right in the heart of the city. Home to 49 rooms and suites, the hotel boasts rooms that look out to the seafront. All rooms are equipped with super luxury Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy towels to wrap up in after relaxing in the roll top baths or monsoon showers. For the diners, make a pitstop by their vine-covered pergola for cocktails in a seriously cool spot.
