“I Hated Blush For 30 Years But This 1 Has Converted Me”

I’ve never liked blush. With rosy cheeks due to tiny burst capillaries – which I actually use foundation to cover – the idea of adding more flushed colour to my makeup routine feels… unnecessary. By contrast, the internet’s in its self-confessed ‘blush blindness‘ era, where more really is more. If I’m honest, I’ve felt like I’m missing out. So when I was sent a few samples of Wonderskin’s new Wonder Blading All-Day Blush Stain, I was curious but not optimistic. Here’s how it went.
What sets it apart
You’re probably already familiar with the brand Wonderskin. It’s the same brand behind the viral lip stain that goes on blue, before you peel it off to reveal a natural, long-wearing tint underneath. Chances are, though, that you didn’t know they also do blushes – and they’re also designed to have a long-lasting stain component.
I felt like I was missing out on the blush craze, because I was yet to find an option that complemented my skin tone, rather than exasperate my already-red cheeks.

The blush line has six different shades to choose from, ranging from a lilac-toned pink (called Whimsy), all the way through to deep berry (Falling). The shade that caught my eye, though, is called Sundrop – a peachy/coral hue, which a colour analysis expert previously told me is the best colour for my complexion.
How it applies
The doe-foot applicator gets just the right amount of product on the end, while the angled tip makes dotting the formula around your face super easy. Yes, the formula looks super pigmented but it’s really not as intense as you might think. After you’ve dotted the product where you want it, all that’s left to do is blend with a brush. The formula is also buildable too so, if you want a more noticeable finish, you can keep layering.

Results
The thing I like most about this blush is how easily it melts into your skin – there’s very little blending required. It gives my face a warmth and glow, without looking too ‘pink’ or classic ‘blush-like’ in certain areas. There’s no clear distinction of where you have and haven’t applied it – the blending is impeccable. For me, this pairs nicely with a bronzer, adding a hint more colour without being too much.

Verdict
If you’ve previously avoided blushes because you don’t like how ‘pink’ they can make your face look, this is the perfect product. I love how beautifully this formula applies, and it makes my skin look that bit better, without ever looking ‘too much’.
