And just like that fashion

From that pigeon clutch to the return of the hot pink Fendi baguette, if there’s one thing And Just Like That Season 2 has spoiled us with, it’s the fashion. As the series comes to an end this month, we’ve recreated four Carrie looks we love. Whether anyone other than Sarah Jessica Parker can pull them off that’s another matter…

Embarrassing storylines, a huge Samantha-shaped hole and Aiden’s bizarre choice of outerwear… And Just Like That, the Sex and the City reboot, hasn’t fallen short of criticism throughout Season 2. And whilst the narratives may sometimes be ridiculous, the styling is always sublime, from vintage looks to pieces that reference the OG series, dresses from the world’s biggest fashion names to lesser-known indie brands.

Scroll to recreate four classic Carrie looks from the show below…

The Pigeon Clutch

If there’s one person who can pull off a pigeon-shaped clutch, it’s Carrie Bradshaw. The playful JW Anderson design comes in at £650 which seems a little steep for real life, but in the show, it’s created one of those iconic looks that will be remembered.

‌The rest of this Carrie look, however, is totally wearable. We love the simplicity of the utilitarian grey boiler suit and you can find a similar one at Mango right now. Tuck into Dune’s Marant-esque slouchy boots for an elevated edge. Trafalgar Square, inspired clutch: optional.

The Classic Carrie

A look that screams “classic Carrie,” the magic of SJP makes what should be a rather twee look, feel modern and cool. That’s in part thanks to the off-beat woven beret by milliner Gigi Burris, whose designs feature heavily throughout Season 2.

‌The fuschia and black Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini’s midi dress is an investment for sure, but currently in the sale on NET. Although Carrie has been known to wear Oscar de la Renta to McDonald’s, this would be a gorgeous wedding guest look with its lustrous jacquard detail and romantic woven flowers.

Head-To-Toe White

This scene, where Carrie updates Charlotte on her new flame, gives us one of the best SJP looks of the season. A vision in head-to-toe white, there are palazzo pants, broderie Anglaise, mega Saint Laurent platforms and a supersized straw boater. Hugely impractical, 100% Carrie.

The Print Clash

Classic Carrie eclecticism here and a great example of the show cheerleading independent brands as well as the world’s biggest fashion houses. The rainbow-striped kaftan is by the brand Marrakshi Life, founded by ex-photographer Randall Bachner, who now works with artisans in Morocco to create joyful prints and colour-popping designs.‌

In true Carrie fashion, she has mixed the striped print, with heritage checks, denim shoes, a fedora and a vintage print (again!) Pierre Cardin bag. It shouldn’t work, but the magic of SJP always makes it happen.
