Get Involved With Earth Month

Whether it’s bushfires on the other side of the globe or worrying air pollution closer to home, we should all be concerned about the serious environmental issues the planet is facing. April sees a month-long initiative that gives everyone the world over a chance to reflect and take action, however great or small.

Earth Month and, more specifically, Earth Day on 22nd April, highlights the urgent change we need in order to save our planet. There will be plenty of events taking place such as the Great Global Clean Up, which encourages people to get out there and rid the environment of waste and plastic pollution for good, whether that’s on London streets or with a beach clean. Head to to see how you can get involved. There will be plenty of other events taking place too, from inspiring talks to local fairs, and it all can be found via the handy Earth Day map here.

For more information on how you can get involved visit Earth Day: The Official Site | EARTHDAY.ORG

The Bridal Rental Shop To Know

Brides-to-be, listen up. If you’re on the search for the dream dress but want to take a more sustainable (and cheaper) route, check out newly launched P.S. RENTAL.

The online platform allows customers to rent dresses, bridal accessories and even veils for up to 28 days from a host of sought after brands. And considering the average wedding dress now costs a staggering £3.5k, it’s a more realistic way of finding a designer dress in the midst of a cost of living crisis.

Founded by two former fashion stylists, Ella Gaskell and Zoe Graham, the duo have over 17 years between them working with some of the world’s most luxury brands – think Oscar de la Renta and Christian Dior – and saw a gap in the booming fashion rental market with a bridal direction.

So how does it work? Brides can try up to three dresses at a time in the comfort of their own home, with sessions starting at just £30. Once they have found the one, they can book these items up to a year in advance to coincide with the special day. Plus, you can rent out your own wedding dress to newbie brides to make a little bit of extra cash and to breathe new life into a much loved frock.

The Modern Milkman

Love milk, hate plastic waste? You need to get on the Modern Milkman float. The online service delivers fresh milk, groceries and household products to your door in returnable glass bottles, reusable containers or recyclable packaging and collects your empties when you’re done.

The brand was launched to try and curb the amount of household single use plastic waste we see here in the UK. In fact, did you know that only 12% of our household plastic waste is recycled here in the UK, with the rest being shipped overseas, incinerated or put into landfill? Shocking.

Instead, the Modern Milkman encourages customers to order, use, rinse and reuse to make one of the country’s biggest household habits a little more conscious.

The service is available in dozens of locations around England, from London to Loughborough, Leeds to Lancashire.

The Sustainable Supper Club

To celebrate Earth Month, sustainable spirits brand, Sapling, are putting on a zero waste supper club for an evening of eating and drinking with a conscience.

Taking place tonight at Notting HIll’s The Pelican (we have it on good authority there may be some last minute tickets left!), the supper club will showcase the very best zero-waste dining experience using ingredients from local producers which use sustainable production methods.

The four-course menu has been created by Chef Owen Kenworthy and includes canapes of beef shin & mustard terrine and cod’s head on rye; wonky carrots with soured cream and nettle to start, a beef hot pot for the main event and a finale of souse blackberry, rhubarb and almond cake. Yum

The meal will of course be washed down with plenty of Sapling zero-waste cocktails.

Tickets are priced at £90 per person. To book head to

Offcut Fashion & Interiors From 46 Stitch

If you’re into that grown-up boho vibe when it comes to fashion and interiors and are keen to shop more sustainably, this is a brand to bookmark. London-based 46 Stitch was founded during the pandemic by former fashion buyer, Hannah Gilmour, who took to creating jackets, bags, denim wear and home accessories from fabric remnants and old Liberty prints

Our pursuit is to create beautiful items that surpass the ‘must-have trends’ and become a forever piece our customers will wear, love and hand-down to family and friends.

The result is a timeless collection of ageless fashion pieces, home picks that will bring charm to your abode and a unique selection of gift ideas.

We have our heart set on the printed quilted jackets and are waiting patiently for the next drop. Follow the brand on Instagram to make sure you don’t miss out.
