It may be cold outside, but snuggling up in gorgeous winter accessories has never looked so good. You may already have your huge blanket scarf, so now’s the time to get even cosier in this season’s pick of beanie hats.

In my mind, the beanie hat is a winter essential; the quintessential piece in your cold weather wardrobe. It’s cosy, yet ever so cool. Plus, these days it’s less of a hipster item and more of a chic street style accessory as seen on the heads of the most stylish. Thanks to cult brands, like Ganni and Acne Studios, beanie hats for women have become so much more than practical clothing. Obviously, the style set still needs to stay warm, but it certainly helps when the knitwear looks fabulous, too.

Skandi brands are at the forefront of sleek outwear. For one, they understand the true meaning of cold weather, but they also exude an effortless aesthetic. Combine these two factors and you know you can trust the likes of Copenhagen-based label, Samsøe Samsøe, or Arket, our high street favourite from Stockholm. From these, among others, you can expect beautifully made hats in gorgeous muted tones which will complement everything from luxe loungewear to your latest workout gear.

Famed Scottish cashmere label, Barrie, has also just collaborated with renowned director, Sofia Coppola, to create a unique capsule collection, including – you guessed it – a pink cashmere beanie. Most definitely on my wishlist. Also from Scotland are the more traditional knit hats at Toast. If you’re after natural colours and homespun vibes, then these are definitely for you.

If in doubt, take inspo from the folk on Insta and get ready to add to your collection. From pared back to bold, these are the cool beanie hats I’m currently coveting…
