All We Know About Daniel Craig’s Return In Knives Out 3

Murder mystery fans, rejoice! Daniel Craig‘s expert detective Benoit Blanc will be returning to our screens next year in the next instalment of the Knives Out series, one of the best new film franchises of the past few years.
This third instalment is set to take Blanc on a new mystery and to new heights after the success of Glass Onion, and the cast alone has us eagerly awaiting its 2025 release date. With names like Andrew Scott, Mila Kunis and Glenn Close onboard, the detective’s next outing should be a good one- here’s all we know.
What Do We Know So Far About Knives Out 3?
Director Rian Johnson, known for his other projects like Looper and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, announced the film’s title on social media the other day as Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The previous two films became some of Netflix’s biggest hits, with Knives Out introducing us to Benoit Blanc as he investigates a murder in a Massachusetts mansion, while Glass Onion was a more satirical mystery tale about the super-rich.
As of yet we don’t really know anything about the plot, though it’ll involve Blanc and his signature Southern drawl as he looks into a new case (his “most dangerous yet”, and you can safely assume someone will be unfortunately bumped off. It’ll also be in a brand new setting after Knives Out’s mansion and Glass Onion’s island retreat. Oh, and with the last two instalments named after Radiohead and Beatlestracks, this time the film takes the title from the U2 song Wake Up Dead Man.

Who’s In The Cast?
One of the best part of the Benoit Blanc movies has been the casts, with names like Ana De Armas, Edward Norton, Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis to name a few. Wake Up Dead Man will co-star a large cast including Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeney, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington (Scandal), Glenn Close (The Wife), Mila Kunis (Luckiest Girl Alive) and Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande). Two other big stars announced in recent days are Josh Brolin (Dune Part Two) and Jeremy Renner, who briefly appeared as himself in Glass Onion.
I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is.
What Else Do We Know, And When Does It Release?
While not much else has been revealed,Rian Johnson seemed to hint at a potential change in direction for Wake Up Dead Man, noting on X: “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is…there’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.” The film is on track to drop in 2025, with a cinema release and later available on Netflix.
