As you step inside the beautiful floral-filled Petersham Nurseries, you’re immediately transported into a whimsical fairytale. This family run business has truly blossomed into its own since opening in 2004, with now with two venues in Richmond and Covent Garden. The Petersham Nurseries Richmond branch is home to two rustic eateries. Set within a glasshouse, The Petersham Nurseries Café, set within a glasshouse, is brimming with bougainvillea and fragrant jasmine, decked out with Indian blinds, and antique furniture and finishes. While The Teahouse serves up wholesome seasonal treats, from hearty cakes to rustic sarnies, alongside lose teas.
If you’re more central, head over to the Covent Garden venue for a bite to eat at one of their restaurants. La Goccia serves up delicious Italian cicchetti plates with a major emphasis on seasonal ingredients. While The Petersham draws inspiration directly from the family home in Richmond. Similar to the café in Richmond, the kitchen follows the Slow Food philosophy, serving up traditional and local sustainable food. When the sun shines over our rainy city, dine out in the floral court, which connects the shop, florist, and restaurants together.

Nestled in amongst Fulham Palace, you’ll find the newly refurbished garden centre, The Palace Gardener. A long time family-run business passed down by generations of the Fenwick family, The Palace Gardener has been designed with a particular emphasis on the gardening needs of Fulham and the nearby residents. In amongst the centre you’ll find The Glasshouse Café designed with an interior that combines steely greys and inky blues, mixing Scandinavian chic with the urban distressed wooden trend.
The catering is managed by the Massarella family, providing fresh Italian flavours within every dish. From fresh brunches to healthy salads, where possible the ingredients are locally sourced, with all meat from Heanens Butchers, fruit and veggies supplied by Steers & Sons, and breads produced by BreadBread Bakery.

Providing a sprinkle of greenery in the heart of Chelsea is The Chelsea Gardener, helping the lucky Londoner’s with a garden make the most out of their urban space, the sibling of The Palace Gardener. If you wander a hundred yards up the road you’ll soon stumble across The Chelsea Courtyard Bistro & Bar, home to a heated courtyard and cosy indoor dining room. The Courtyard Punch with gin, Aperol, fresh pink grapefruit juice and elderflower liqueur is what dreams are made of!
For those looking for a private event space or dinner, the centre is available for evening bookings, offering both beautiful indoor and outdoor areas perfect for any event. Tucked away in the historical Palm House, you’ll find Clifton Nurseries, a hidden oasis in the heart of Maida Vale. Littered with picture-perfect glasshouses, and filled with plants, flowers, trees and more, the nursery is also home to The Quince Tree Cafe. This little glasshouse is piled high with brunch goodies and an beautiful afternoon tea selection with finger sarnies, sweet treats and, of course, traditional scones, with the option for a glass of fizz too! It’s perfect for a quick bite to eat while your shop for vibrant florals and rustic-style outdoor furnishings.
