Top June Pop-Ups and Supper Clubs

1st June 2016 | By Emily Gray

June is here and so is summer… even if the weather does have other ideas at the moment, but still summer is here. With it brings new pop-ups; from feasting and speakeasies to Swedish residencies and finally the opening of the Hello Kitty Cafe. Here are 12 of the best pop-ups and supper clubs this month:

The Hat and Tun

A whole lot of crab

Back in 2015 Fabian Clark launched street food business CLAW after realising that 80% off British crab is exported to Europe. Now a regular at KERB and with various residencies in London, CLAW is serving up crab from Start Bay in Devon and for two weeks in June will be hosting a pop-up at The Hat and Tun. Dishes will include the CLAW burger made with samphire slaw and lemon aioli; mac and cheese made with Emmental, aged Cheddar and Parmesan which you can also infuse with Devonshire crab, cockle popcorn, crayfish and pork sausage rolls and smoked cod roe fries. 15th -17th June/ 22nd -24th June

Little Feast

English summer garden and 6 street food stalls

Little Feast is back at Shepherds Bush Market for summer with 6 street food stalls including Cuban club sandwiches from Jama Cubana, Cheeky Burger and the ridiculously tempting Marshmallowist. White washed wood, summery hits of blue and an English walled garden make this a sure bet for a summer favourite.

Supper With Petersham Nurseries

Home-grown feasting

After a visit to Petersham Nurseries you’ll feel as though you’ve been away from London but now you actually can escape to the country award-winning chef Damian Clisby and head gardener Thomas Broom host a one-off feast at Cheltenham’s No.38 The Park. The menu features homegrown and wild ingredients; slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with chickpeas, aubergine, cumin and basil and Petersham Prosecco, wild strawberry and rose jelly pudding. Panther Milk Bar x L'Escargot

Gun Powder Cocktails

It might sound like something that Ron Burgundy would drink but Panther Milk aka Leche De Pantera is actually a type of cocktail drink found in Spain. Closely linked to the Foreign Legion it originated in the 1920s and there have been many variations – some even including gun powder…and they say we’re rowdy now. Of course L’Escargot won’t be serving up Panther Milk with gun powder or marijuana in it (yep some include that too) instead their recipe comes from the help of Chimo Oliver an 82 year old Catalan they met in Barcelona, when he opposed Fascism he was sent to the Foreign Legion and it was here that he learned how to make this secret version. The drink will be served in three original variations – white (creamy), green (apparently tastes like a Mint Aero) and pink (the fruity one). Cheers!
