London’s Best Olympic-Themed Menus
Who doesn’t love the Olympics? Many of London’s restaurants are celebrating the iconic games with new menus and offerings specifically for the event. Being in Paris, there’s an obvious culinary connection to make, and French restaurants are doing their best to mark the occasion, but there’s also Greek and Italian, and creative cocktails to sample.
Here are some of the best Olympic menus in London going for gold this year.
Bacchanalia
The Olympics all began in Greece, so its only right that Greco-Roman Bacchanalia has a special menu in store. The Olympia Menu – available throughout the summer for both lunch and dinner – is inspired by the ancient wonders of Hera, Queen of the Gods. Dishes are tied to the tradition of sharing style feasting. Think seasonal, contemporary Greek dishes such as oven baked feta, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives and sourdough, succulent lamb chops with paprika sauce, and fregola with grilled artichoke, courgette, peas, spinach and Amalfi lemon.
A pairing list from Bacchanalia’s Greek wine cellar has been specially selected. Try Greek sparkling like Nemea from Domaine Skouras in the Peloponnese, a glass of Santorini Assyrtiko or Xinomavro from Naoussa.

German Gymnasium
There are few more fitting Olympic locations than German Gymnasium, which played host to London’s Indoor Olympic Games in 1866 and 1908.

For drier tastes, The Pioneer has a mix of smoky mezcal, Aperol, marmalade and grapefruit bitters, while The Acrobat has an earthy mix of Sauvelle vodka, lemon balm wine, suze and vetiver.
