Created for the discerning gentleman, indeed the modern gentleman, this premise reflects Alfred’s own legacy as a curator of the very finest offering not only superlative product but the ultimate in service and experience too.
Appropriately for this eminent British luxury brand, the true spiritual Home of Alfred Dunhill will be found in London, England taking pride of place in the eponymous Bourdon House – formerly the noble London residence of the Duke of Westminster. Established in the heart of Mayfair, this grade two listed Georgian Building has – like dunhill – long since represented grandeur and distinction in British heritage.
The retail aspect of Bourdon House is accomplished over three floors, catering to every modern gentleman’s need. The ground floor will boast the thoroughly impressive dunhill emporium – simply the very best in menswear, leather, accessories, gifts, gadgets and gizmos. The second floor reflects dunhill’s commitment to personalisation, luxury and exclusivity by presenting the Discovery Room – housing custom menswear and leather, a spa replete with 2 treatment rooms, a traditional gentleman’s barber, Alfred Dunhill apex products and an elegant museum curating pieces from the brand’s archives as well as vintage leather pieces. The basement will accommodate a subterranean private cinema – replete with state of the art sound system care of the esteemed, British made technology wizards Meridian – and a lounge area adjacent to the humidor and cigar keeps. There will also be 2 dunhill customised Bentley Continental Spurs on hand for VIP customers.
The London Home will also be personified by Alfred’s – Alfred Dunhill’s inaugural private members club. This discrete refuge for interesting and interested people will reflect the innovation, charm, style, wit and hospitality held dear by the brand. A place to relax and inspire, this will be a clandestine home away from home, a club that Alfred himself would have been proud to be an affiliate of.
Alfred’s will afford each of its select members –membership is achieved through invitation only – with an exceptional restaurant nurtured by Executive Chef Mark Hix; games room; ‘dishonesty’ bar; courtyard for al fresco entertaining; private dining room; access to the original Bourdon house wine cellars and four bedrooms including a sumptuous suite recreating the original sleeping quarters of the Duke himself.
Beautifully restoring an illustrious circa 1720 residence to its former glory, the London Home of Alfred Dunhill will present a superior and inimitable experience, distinguished by a range of considered services and dunhill’s signatory attention to fine detail.
Home of Alfred Dunhill opens September 2008.
