St. John To Offer 1994 Prices As Part Of 30th Anniversary
St. John, one of London’s most iconic and beloved restaurants, has announced a radical plan to mark their 30th anniversary – a return to its original 1994 menu, prices included, from September 9th until the 27th.
Founded by Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver, St. John is widely regarded as one of the most influential restaurants in the city, pioneering a ‘nose-to-tail’ philosophy that sought to champion underutilised ingredients – no better demonstrated than with their signature dish, roast bone marrow with parsley salad. In the subsequent 30 years, it has inspired a raft of chefs, and courted fans such as Jay Rayner, A.A. Gill and Anthony Bourdain, who described it as ‘the restaurant of my dreams’.
Those lucky enough to secure a table (bookings went faster than Eras Tour tickets) will be rewarded with iconic dishes like apricots on toast at £4, or grilled lamb tongues, broad Beans and carrots at £8.80. The famous roast bone marrow will be just £4.20. In keeping with tradition, the menu will change twice daily (as it still does today) but all with reduced prices. Sadly, it seems the drinks prices will remain at modern rates, however.

In a statement on Instagram, it said: “We simply do things how we feel they should be done, and cook what we want to eat. We have been lucky enough to find that our many friends and customers want to eat the same way. 30 years later we are still here, ever looking gently forward… always the same, yet never the same.”
