If there’s one thing we love, it’s an excuse to go to the pub on a Sunday – and the Super Bowl provides exactly that. Get ready for over three hours of showstopping musical entertainment, ice-cold neutral-tasting beer, bottomless vats of chicken wings, whatever a ‘slider’ is – and there’s a bit of actual sport thrown in for good measure (supposedly).

Who will win when the immovable San Francisco 49ers take on the unstoppable Kansas City Chiefs? It’s too close to call. One thing we do know is Taylor Swift will be flying her infamous private jet from Tokyo to Nevada just in time for kick-off. As it takes place on Sunday night through to Monday morning, licensing rules mean your favourite local probably won’t be showing it – in fact, lots of places aren’t. Fear not, however, because we’ve come up with a guide on where to watch Super Bowl LVIII in London for access almost as good as sitting in the Chiefs’ private box.

The Clapham Grand

The Super Bowl is all about size – big stars, big celebrations – so what you need is a big screen to watch all of this largeness in the best way possible. The Clapham Grand always puts on a good party, and with a massive 25ft HD screen, you won’t miss a single advert (or bit of the action).

We’re venue is partnering with award-winning chicken connoisseurs Thunderbird Chicken, so food is guaranteed to satisfy. The 2023 version sold out quickly, so this is definitely one not to sleep on if you want to secure your place.

Hard Rock Café

London’s unofficial official shrine to its transatlantic friends, the Hard Rock Café is the obvious choice if you want to fully embrace the Super Bowl spirit.

Included for Super Bowl Sunday are an exclusive big game menu, competitions and prizes, giant screens, and a wild crowd.

Blues Kitchen

This option is perfect no matter what corner of London you call home – they have outlets in Shoreditch, Camden, and Brixton (and Manchester, for those up North)

Known for great live music, cocktails, and bottomless chicken wings, they will be also showing the Super Bowl on Sunday night. Walk-ins are welcome, but to get the best view of the screen booking ahead is recommended.

They are also known for their Bourbon selection, to really get you into the red, white, and blue spirit.

Big Penny Social

The UK’s largest beer hall is a regular favourite for big football and rugby internationals, and it’s been kind enough to lend its allegiance to a foreign sport for one night only. With ice-cold beer, party food, and a lot of seating, you can’t really go wrong with this one.

There will also be a pre-game DJ to make sure you’re fully hyped before kick-off – or to ensure you stay awake, as it does start pretty late.

The Charlotte

Sports pub extraordinaire The Charlotte is a safe bet no matter the sport – football, rugby, boxing, F1, the Olympics, tobogganing, we presume. And the Super Bowl is no different.

With a wood fire pizza oven, pool tables, and a floating DJ perch, there’s lots to keep you entertained before and after the match, ensuring you’re forced to call in sick on Monday morning.

The Prince

What’s more American than the Super Bowl? Budweiser of course and The Prince in West London is partnering with the iconic beer brand to celebrate the biggest date on the NFL calendar.

Such US classic activities like a wing-eating contest and beer pong are part of the pre-game entertainment, as well as an NFL-themed quiz for you to show off if your knowledge extends beyond comments like “That Travis Kelce is pretty good, isn’t he?”

Long Arm Pub

A question to non-Americans – do you fear sticking out? Embarrassed about your lack of NFL knowledge? Fear not, the Long Arm Pub has employed a raft of face painters to cover up that ignorance with red, white, and blue stripes.

They’ll also be serving a range of exclusive Jack Daniels-based cocktails, and traditional American dining right through from the pre-game party until the end of the match.
