Great Ways To Spend This Chilly Weekend In London

This week, winter officially announced its arrival with a snow shower, and you know what that means – it’s time for winter terraces and Christmas shopping. This weekend, we’ve got some lovely festive events to look forward to, from Fulham Pier’s Christmas lights switch-on to Mount Street’s two-day festive celebration. Plus, Wicked For Good releases this weekend, and we absolutely cannot wait. Here’s our guide to what’s on in London this weekend:
Attend the Christmas lights switch-on at Fulham Pier
London’s newest riverside destination, Fulham Pier, will step ‘Into the Woods’ for its debut festive season – a magical forest-themed celebration on the Thames that begins on 20th November 2025 with a spectacular Christmas Lights Switch-On headlined by local resident and social media star James B Partridge. Plus, after the switch-on, there will be performances by James with local choirs joining in.

Watch a special screening of Love Actually
Settle in for a dose of festive nostalgia with Mount Street Neighbourhood, as Grosvenor Chapel transforms into the cosiest cinema in Mayfair for a series of screenings of beloved Christmas classics. We’re talking all our favourites from Love Actually, to the timeless It’s a Wonderful Life, and of course, it’s not Christmas if you don’t laugh (and cry a little) with Home Alone. Plus, each screening comes with a festive treat box from Farm Shop (think indulgent seasonal nibbles to enjoy as you watch), and every ticket goes towards supporting the local homeless kitchen initiative to spread a little extra warmth this holiday season.

Check out this festive installation
The South Bank hotel will be unveiling its 2025 Christmas tree, created in collaboration with Colours of Arley, the much-loved textiles brand. Adorned in Colours of Arley’s signature stripes, the installation offers a lovely festive experience. The tree is adorned with soft ornaments inspired by goods once brought into London by sea – from animals and seafood to citrus fruits and spices -each handcrafted from Colours of Arley’s striped fabrics. Mindful not to introduce further textiles into circulation, the decorations have been crafted from off-cuts left over from previous Colours of Arley projects.
