Move Over Cloud Dancer, Green Decor Is The Colour Trend For Spring

Cloud Dancer may have been coined the Pantone Color of the Year 2026, but if its whisper of calm and blank slate energy doesn’t quite float your boat, this might. We’re rooting for green decor instead. Be it grounding moss or forest, sexy olive, just a hint of cool peppermint, or bold grass green, clashed with a pop of red. Here is how we’re working the trend and the pieces we’re currently coveting…
The best thing about using the colour green in the home is that it is the colour of nature. Even though we’re seeing it in so many incredible interior designers’ projects of late, it’s effectively the anti-trend. It’s the shade that always feels grounding and – in whatever iteration it takes on – it rarely dates.
It also goes with pretty much everything, from minimalist white walls to a cohort of other jewel tones to rich browns and woods. Even against clinical chrome (a big interiors trend for 2026), green adds a sense of soft relief.
Green is the anti-trend trend. It’s the shade that always feels grounding and – in whatever iteration it takes on – it rarely dates.
It also works beautifully in all corners of the home. Think bright green floor tiles in the kitchen, a beautiful sheet of veiny green marble in the bathroom, or a big modular pile of green velvet sofa in a homely yet chic living room. Try calming sage or forest tones in your sleeping quarters, or add personality to the space with bright green lacquered wardrobes. Perfection.
Go big and bold by colour-splashing the walls and ceilings with your paint colour of choice, or just nod to the trend with some well-chosen furniture pieces (we’re very into a green coffee table currently) or a splash of colour with vibrant, nature-inspired artwork or a cool rug.
It is home decor’s ultimate crowd-pleaser, but it doesn’t have to be safe or boring – unless you want it to be, of course.
