The Handbook
The Handbook

As London prepares to reopen its restaurants, cafes and shop fronts, we took a look at the best sweet spots across London, because summer isn’t complete without a berry toppled cupcake in tow.

From pretty in pink pavlovas to the dreamiest of eclairs, here’s 10 places to satisfy your sweet tooth in the city.

Peggy Porschen has seen many an influencer adorn its exterior to pose for a quick insta-snap. The enticing location has an outside as pink as the icing on the cakes, and a vibrancy like no other that goes hand in hand with chilled Champagne and a slice of something sugary. Those on the search of the ultimate summer treat should tuck into their eton mess topped cupcakes that have just returned for the season. It’s tastes like summer in a bite.

Right now there’s no date on their reopening but we can’t wait to welcome them back, a dozen eclairs in hand.

If Wes Anderson owned a cafe, the chances are it would look like this! Palm Vaults in Hackney screams pastel shades, wicker chairs and greenery. Their menu is coloured with scrumptious vegan offerings on pretty plates, and lattes in opulent shades that will have you sipping for the ‘gram. The most important part? Cakes. The cakes are as quirky as the interior, usually donning satirical sayings and popping up in pastel shades.

Hoxton Street Monster Supplies

If you’re looking for a stroke of the traditional, Hoxton Street Monster Supplies are where it’s at having been established in 1818. Priding themselves on being London’s, and quite possibly the world’s, only purveyor of “quality goods for monsters of every kind,” the shop clearly boasts a sensational humour, inviting Vampires, Werewolf’s, Sasquatch’s and more along to roam the shelves of goodies. Not to fear however, humans are also welcome to enjoy bags of Brain Food (strawberry bon bons) and breath remedies for zombies (mint imperials) and much more where that came from!
