Hotels We’re Booking For Their Sleek Interiors

These days there’s so much to consider when booking your city break or sunny getaway, but throw in a top design hotel and you may never want to leave its stylish confines. We’ve picked our fave spots to book for the coolest interiors and incredible creative inspo…
It used to be all about the location, but today we are spoilt for choice when it comes to hotels. From chic minimalist bedrooms to the more flamboyant – note the stunning Broadwick Soho; from Sao Paolo to Palm Springs, hotel design is what’s luring us in. My own bucket list of hotels with the coolest interiors is extensive, but I’ve picked out my top five to share with you. Read on and start booking… or redecorating your home.
1. Soho House São Paulo

Soho House São Paulo marks South America‘s first Soho House location and if I hadn’t wanted to revisit the colourful and exciting sights of Brazil (for the record, I do), I most definitely do now. Built around a central courtyard framed by large arched glass windows, the hotel is located within Cidade Matarazzo in the Bela Vista neighbourhood. As is often the case with the Soho House ethos, the design team has worked hard to preserve the building’s architectural history. Collaborating with local artisans to source Brazilian-made and designed interiors, much of the interiors are inspired by the city’s rich
Portuguese heritage and Brazilian modernism.
However, if a trip to Brazil is out of the question, you’ll be happy to know that 5th September sees the launch of the latest collection from Soho Home, which draws inspiration from recent Soho House outposts including the stunning São Paulo, but also Portland, Oregon. We’re giving you a sneak peek and I’m sure you’ll agree that it is total perfection. Expect new silhouettes, patterns, and materials in dreamy shades of antique rose, olive green and grey blue.
So, if you can’t make it to the hotel, bring the hotel home.

2. Broadwick Soho London

As a total hotel obsessive, this relatively new glam boutique escape in the heart of London’s Soho has captured my heart. It is totally boujis, eclectic and brimming with nostalgia. Conceived by a group of friends, this haven of cool on the corner of Broadwick Street and Berwick Street is the dream design by world-renowned interior designer Martin Brudnizki, of Annabel’s, The Beekman and Scott’s Restaurant fame. Already, my mind is blown.
According to the team, Brudnizki injected elements of “Jazz Age opulence to travels around Italy, with a dash of English eccentricity and a sprinkling of disco fabulousness”. And honestly, it feels like an explosive work of art, one that you’ll be hard-pushed to leave behind. Look out for the Murano lighting, herringbone floors, animal-print upholstery and red silk walls. Then, of course, there’s the actual artwork, iconic pieces by the likes of Francis Bacon, Bridget Riley, Andy Warhol, and William Turnbull, amongst other vintage finds and emerging artists’ pieces from Faye Wei Wei and Casey Moore. Also, Broadwick Soho’s logo is none other than the elephant, an animal known for its social skills, intelligence, empathy and compassion, just some of the attributes that this already cult establishment aspires to emulate as a brand.
If tempted to recreate at home, it’s simply a case of embracing the bold and the decadent. Have fun with fabrics and textures; be brave and adorn your walls with conspicuous paintings; light candles and drink cocktails.

3. Parker Palm Springs

Cool just doesn’t do this place justice. I visited ten years ago following a renewal of my wedding vows and I still dream about returning. Why? Because of the ambience, the eccentricity, the allure. There’s something utterly intoxicating about the Palm Springs location, from the imposing yet now Insta-famous 23-foot breeze block brise soleil entrance to the hedonistic glamour that lies in wait behind the orange doors. Perhaps it’s the feeling of escapism that captures guests as you’re instantly transported to another time or even into a Slim Aarons photograph. It’s a celebration of mid-century modern decor, thanks to design master, Jonathan Adler.
From Norma’s, the bright open-air terrace restaurant and the Lemonade Stand, framed by a yellow and white striped awning and multi-coloured Bertoia barstools to the art-filled bedrooms and ‘Drugs’ artwork in the lobby, the Parker is a party for the senses. To achieve even a hint of this retro decadence at home, look no further than Jonathan Adler’s own store. There you’ll discover a treasure trove of quirky trinkets, porcelain ornaments, bar carts, plush chairs and sculptural lighting. Make your next stop your favourite vintage boutique, perhaps Vinterior, eBay or Pamono

4. Cretan Malia Park, Crete

Cretan Malia Park was fully renovated back in 2018 by Vana Pernari, and it’s not just beautiful, it’s a sanctuary for the soul. Despite neighbouring the summer party strip, this peaceful hotel sits in rustic grounds with a feast of homegrown produce and oozes pared-back, yet cosy minimalist style. The boldest colours to be seen are possibly the blue-striped sun loungers or the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea, everywhere else is a tranquil blend of soft textures and creamy tones. Walnut, rattan, ceramic and stone all bestow a relaxed mood in the light, airy rooms, while murals bring the nature of Crete inside. Pernari has created somewhere impeccably modern, while still maintaining a strong Cretan identity.
There’s definitely a strong focus on slow-paced living with wellbeing at the heart of this retreat. Even The Beach Shack, a must for sundowners, with its bamboo-lined bar, allows for barefoot cocktails. A situation we’d all love to transport home. Thankfully homeware boutique, Maison Flâneur has created an online edit to shop Cretan Malia’s style. So you can avoid the tacky souvenirs and snap up a stylish memento from your days wafting through the cacti-lined walkways of this heavenly place.

5. Hotel Corazón, Mallorca

Nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains, between Deià and Sóller in Mallorca, Hotel Corazón is other-worldly. The renovated old Finca embraces freedom, stillness, and bohemian living in a haze of rose-tinted light. Created by photographer Kate Bellm and artist Edgar Lopez, they wanted a refuge where guests could be who they want to be, feel at home while indulging in hotel luxuries and discover both calmness and adventure.
Earthy to the core, there’s a sense that it’s been created by Mother Nature herself, but no, this is a masterpiece by artists for artists
There are no TVs only breathtaking views and a private pool overlooking the ocean. Smooth rounded sculptural details designed by local architects, Moredesign, add to the serenity, with showers shaped like eggs and beds like cotton candy. Artwork by Ozzie Wrong hangs alongside pieces by hotel owners Kate and Edgar, while Artist in Residence, Yasmin Bawa, has sculpted a reception desk that resembles Kate’s favourite rock. It’s become a go-to for the cool and even used as a fashion location, most recently by one of my favourite labels, Queens Of Archive. Think shaggy ’70s, shades of pinks and oranges paired with rustic and organic materials – those you can inject into your own home. Sadly I can’t help with the view though.
