Ruggable X Mrs Alice

Mrs Alice in living room with sausage dog on green rug

If you know Mrs. Alice (Alice Naylor-Leyland), you know the devil is always in the detail. The founder of her stunning interiors line, famous for jaw-dropping tablescapes, has now teamed up with Ruggable to bring that same meticulous attention right down to your floor.

Co-designed by Alice and her mother, Serena Fresson, this gorgeous collection takes inspiration from the chintzy homes and gardens of the English countryside. Expect designs rich with ikat, florals, sweet bows, and soft pastels, mirroring the charming aesthetic of Alice’s own brand.

And here’s the best part: these rugs are built for real life. Created with the duo’s love for hosting in mind, they’re stain-resistant and machine-washable (yes, they really do fit in your washing machine!). Say goodbye to worries about crumbs from little ones, red wine spills from guests, or muddy paw prints from furry friends.

The collection features 12 charming designs, available in a range of sizes from kitchen runners to expansive floor-sweeping rugs, plus two adorable doormats. Prices start from £159.

Silo Studio x In Casa by Paboy

Five years later, and we still love this lockdown success story. In Casa by Paboy was launched in 2020 by Gambia-born, Naples-based designer Bojang. Cushions are his thing (God knows we love a good statement cushion here at The Handbook), and we were immediately taken by his punchy use of colour, print and a good frilled trim.

Now, In Casa by Paboy has teamed up with London’s Silo Studio, founded by Hannah Watts. Like us, Hannah has long admired Bojang’s journey and his beautiful designs, as well as his obvious skill and hand craftsmanship, which truly set him apart from mass-produced interiors. These are interiors that offer a unique, quiet, but cool luxury crafted from small-batch design.

God knows we love a good cushion here at The Handbook, and we were immediately taken by his punchy use of colour, print and a good frilled trim.

This new collection features six cushions, all using Hannah’s signature ‘Natte’ fabric, beautifully re-imagined with In Casa’s artistic touch. The bold print, inspired by Senegalese woven mats, transforms into plump, gorgeous cushions, framed with playful ruffles or paired with Bojang’s signature joyful patchwork. The fabrics are printed in a family-run mill in England and sewn by hand in Bojang’s Naples studio – a labour of love that makes for a truly unique collaboration and pieces to be treasured forever.

Each cushion is priced at £165.

Studio Ashby for COS

Sophie Ashby
COS RUE TRONCHET ERIN CHAPLIN painting

This summer, your visit to COS could be more than just a shopping trip – it could be an art experience. The retailer has partnered with London-based interior design studio, Studio Ashby, to curate stunning artwork for select stores.

The Regent Street store in London, Rue Tronchet in Paris, and the new Aleksanterinkatu location in Helsinki are now showcasing a hand-picked selection of works by talented women artists from around the globe.

“I am thrilled to partner with COS to curate a selection of art for their stores,” says Sophie, Founder and Creative Director of Studio Ashby. “Supporting women artists is a true passion of mine, and it has been a wonderful experience to bring some of my favourite artists into the inspiring world of COS. I’m excited to see the works staged against the backdrop of each space.”

If you’re in the London store, make sure to see Finnish artist Milla Vaahtera’s striking lighting installation. It beautifully blends bold glass forms with delicate brass, offering a modern twist on traditional craft techniques. As if we needed another reason to pop into COS.
