Foodies, this one’s for you. Apple TV’s new documentary series, Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, from executive producer Gordon Ramsay is destined to be your next watch. If you love good high-intensity chef drama (obviously, we’re talking about The Bear), Knife Edge looks like it can give you a real-life look at the kitchens of some of the world’s best restaurants. Hosted by Topjaw’s Jesse Burgess, here’s all we know about the new series, releasing on Friday, 10th October.
What’s Knife Edge about?
Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars is an eight-part documentary series that gives audiences a glimpse of the high-stakes world of Michelin-starred dining, hosted by none other than London’s OG foodie interviewer and Topjaw co-founder Jesse Burgess. You’ve seen Burgess interview some of the biggest celebs in the world, including the likes of Florence Pugh, Andrew Garfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Idris Elba and more. Now, he’s taking on the Michelin restaurants of the world, taking viewers inside the emotionally charged, high-stakes world of fine dining to capture the pressure and ambition that define the road to Michelin recognition.

Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars travels to some of the most compelling culinary destinations on Earth, from New York in kitchens like Coqodaq, The Musket Room, Nōksu, to Chicago (Cariño, Esmé, Feld), the Nordics (Aure, Jordnær, Knystaforsen), the U.K. (Caractère, House, Wilsons), Mexico (Em, Máximo), Italy (Agriturismo Ferdy, Kresios) and California (Harbour House, Pasjoli, Pasta|Bar). And at each stop, chefs open their doors and their kitchens as they chase their first, second or even third Michelin star.

Apart from chef interviews, the show will give audiences a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at Michelin. With access to on-the-record interviews with anonymous inspectors, the series delivers a chef’s eye view of one of the culinary world’s most elusive honours, and the human stories behind the pursuit of perfection.
