Tell us about your career to date and what drew you to the beauty space

I have always had a love for the beauty and fashion space which I get from my mum. It started when I was in secondary school, and I used to desperately want to wear makeup, but I wasn’t allowed (except for mascara). Then, one day, my mum gave me my first MAC foundation. It was second-hand, of course, because she had bought the wrong shade, but I absolutely loved it. Later on, I started to organically grow an audience through my prom picture going quite viral at the time. Before you know it I was in university with a few hundred thousand followers and being called an influencer. Once I had graduated, I decided to do it full-time.

How would you describe your approach to beauty?

I’m fairly open with my approach to beauty and I do not discriminate at all. Sometimes, I approach it in a “better skin” way with a more natural finish, and other times, I want a full glam and for it to be known that I’m wearing a fair amount of makeup. It depends how I’m feeling on the day in all honesty. It could span anywhere from a little powder to glittery lids and volume lashes.

What’s the best piece of beauty advice you’ve ever received?

The best piece of beauty advice I ever received was that “there are no rules”. Anything and everything goes because what works for me may not work for you. It’s all about the artistry, ultimately, and creating something beautiful. I really enjoy it all and seeing all the different ways a glam look can be achieved.

A lot of my inspiration definitely comes from Pinterest. I am obsessed with it. It feels like a breath of fresh air. Just pure creativity delivered straight to you without searching.

Tell us about one trend that you think will be big in 2024

I think we can see a revolt happening towards the “clean girl” aesthetic through microtrends such as the “mob wife” aesthetic and the viral Pat McGrath makeup at the Maison Margiela Paris shows. People want to wear more makeup and have fun with it again. I would say a lot more playful eyeshadow looks will be seen in 2024.

What are your go-to makeup and skincare brands?

I absolutely adore Huda Beauty, Pat McGrath and Hourglass to name a few. For skincare, I love NATURIUM, Cerave and Dermatica.

Which celebrity beauty brand do you think is worth the hype?

It would honestly have to be Fenty Beauty. I think it’s so good that I often forget it’s owned by Rihanna.

What’s a beauty rule you swear by?

Primer and skin prep! The better your skin, the better your makeup. Plus, I have very oily skin and benefit from priming my face first to help reduce the oils throughout the day.

What’s the one product you’re never caught without?

Lipgloss or lip oils– anything that will give me a glossy lip is never too far from me.
