London-based brand MĀRĪCĪ makes all their pieces using traditional handmade techniques by master artisans in Florence. Instead of using leather, they use plant-based alternatives created from discarded plants and by-products taken from existing industries.

The collection is classic and offers those bags that stand the test of time, from a timeless tote in rich cognac to cute under-arm designs – the perfect arm candy for all your date nights. Although the collection is fairly paired back, there are also pieces with fun final flourishes like boho studs or metallic finishes.

Karuna London

Karuna London creates bags with a conscience, using innovative leather alternatives made from agricultural waste and recycled plastics. Each piece is crafted by master artisans in a small, historic town in Southern Spain, dedicated to leather craft but this time with a vegan ethos.

The aesthetic is clean, simple bags that will fit seamlessly into a capsule wardrobe. Three styles have initially launched in rich but classic hues of brown, black and olive.

THEMOIRè 

Milan-based bag brand TT is a true marriage of sustainable fashion and style. Each and every one of their bags is so beautiful, from the butter-yellow Bios to the architectural Olympia tote.

The brand uses new and innovative eco fabrics harvested from pineapple leaves or the apple industry, as well as natural materials like cork and raffia, and recycled materials like eco fur or recycled cotton. This multi-fabric makeup gives many of the bags a really luxe and tactile feel.

Plus, all linings are made using 100% recycled materials, predominantly from PET plastic bottles and threads and internal labels are formed from recycled nylon, which partially comes from fishing nets. Clever stuff.

If you’re in the market for an affordable vegan bag, check out JW PEI, which has prices ranging from £90 to £180. Born out of L.A. the brand feels quite trend-led, but with a conscious edge, with shapes and styles similar. to the likes of It-bags by Jacquemus and Bottega.
