Western Interiors Are Everywhere Right Now

From beautiful reclaimed wooden furniture to dramatic wrought iron chandeliers, equestrian-inspired artwork to kitsch cowboy home accessories, western interiors are everywhere right now. Here’s how to make it work in your home without your space looking like a real-life Mojo Dojo Casa House.
Beyonce’s released a country album, Bella’s dating a real-life cowboy, cowboy hats are supposedly back (yes, really) and we are still rocking a Western boot with just about every look. It’s safe to say we are in a yee-haw era and it was only a matter of time until the trend trickled into our interiors too. Granted, the look isn’t for everyone, but if you are in the market to bring a whole new vibe to your design, it’s one of 2024’s hottest interior trends and far more attainable than you might think.
Let’s start with accessories. There are plenty of Western-inspired quick wins that will not only bring an element of nature into your space but warmth too. That’s all thanks to the focus on natural materials – think beautifully crafted leather accent chairs topped with faux animal hide cushions or prickly cactus trees (faux or real) to bring some greenery to the indoors. Reclaimed wood worked into practical sofa side tables or beautifully curved dark wooden mirrors to bring drama and light.
If you’re keen to veer towards the more kitsch end of the spectrum, go a little camp with more zeitgeist pieces. We love Trouva’s cowboy boot match holder – it would make a great gift for any current Beyoncé fan – or The Go-To’s quirky ‘Come Over, Cowboy’ plates – that will bring a playful element to your next tablescape. And for weekend cocktail parties, add a bit of Western charm to the drinks with some Texas-inspired, hand-embroidered napkins. Bourbon-heavy cocktail optional.

As fun and frivolous as this trend may look on the surface, there are some key players from the design world creating interesting and unique pieces. Poodle & Blonde are masters of the cowboy print, working it into fabrics, wallpapers and, our favourite, their Cliftonville lamp – sweet in a children’s bedroom or charming and cool in a quiet reading nook.
We are also loving the artwork and soft furnishings by Manchester artist and model Kara Rose Marshall. Inspired by old Western films and seventies pop culture she creates tufted rugs emblazoned with giant cowboy boots, as well as a hypnotising collection of soft cowboy prints, which almost look like they are dancing across the walls. Starting at just £35 for a print they are a great way to start adding art to your home.

Cowboy Artwork
From Sammy Little’s bespoke commissions of cowboys and their horses veering out to the middle distance to Babak Ganjei’s tongue-in-cheek slogan prints, Western-inspired art is a more subtle way to work the trend in your home.
Cowboy & Cowgirl-Themed Children’s Rooms
Which little one wouldn’t want their bedroom turned into their own ranch? Bring the Great Plains to their spaces with retro-feel bedding, equestrian artwork and rodeo-inspired soft furnishings.
Little ones wwill love this fun retro cowgirl print on the walls. Noding to a much-loved 1950’s aesthetic, this hand-painted print will add fun and personality to a children’s bedroom.
