We only have a two-day weekend this time, but there’s so much packed into it, as summer activities really start clicking into gear. Whether you’re heading to the London Marathon, the Brick Lane Jazz Festival or fancy checking off new restaurants and exhibitions from your list, here are all the best ways you can spend this coming weekend.

Dive into this Jazz Festival

Bringing together London’s vibrant underground music community for three days at the iconic Truman Brewery site and beyond, the Brick Lane Jazz Festival will return in 2025, showcasing some of the most exciting new and established acts on the scene today.

The festival champions an eclectic and genre-defying wealth of artists that represent London’s bubbling underground music scene, from nu-jazz to hip-hop, neo-soul, electronic and more. Artists on the bill in 2025 include Judi Jackson, Yakul, Fehdah and Isobella Burnham.

Head to the year’s buzziest release so far

Let’s be honest, we’ve been starved of good films in 2025 so far, but finally, a reason to go to the cinema has arrived. Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners is an absolute jolt of cinematic energy, starring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twins who return to their small hometown in 1930s Mississippi.

Our suggestion? Don’t read anything further about the film, don’t watch the trailer – just go and see where it takes you. It’s much better if you don’t know the twist beforehand.

Release date: April 18th

Discover an iconic artist at Southbank

Head to Southbank for artist Linder’s first London retrospective, which showcases 50 years of the pioneering feminist artist’s work, dissecting our fascination with the body and its representation.

Strikingly iconoclastic, her photomontages remix images from popular culture, ranging from early pin-up photography to digital deep fakes, engaging in vibrant and powerful take-downs of male-oriented consumer culture.
