Imperfect Women, Starring Elisabeth Moss And Kerry Washington, Is Streaming This Month

Apple TV is always good at getting big names for its shows, and its latest thriller, Imperfect Women, brings together a golden trio of actresses. Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Kate Mara (House of Cards) star together as three friends in a tale of crime and betrayal- and how sometimes friendships are not always as they seem. When one of the women turns up dead, the lives of everyone around them are thrown into turmoil. It arrives on streaming this month, so here’s everything you need to know:
What is Imperfect Women about?
Imperfect Women is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Araminta Hall, and focuses on a group of three close friends: Mary (played by Moss), Eleanor (Washington) and Nancy (Mara). We’re introduced to them in the series’ trailer, and it’s apparent that they’re very close to each other- or at least, on the surface, they are. But, as the trailer also reveals, Mary and Eleanor are both left shocked when they’re told that Nancy has been found dead, and her death is left in mysterious circumstances. The show will jump back and forth and show us flashbacks to when Nancy was alive, while the two remaining friends are left trying to put together the pieces of what happened: “We didn’t know everything there was to know about her” Mary laments.

Both Mary and Eleanor begin to feel that Nancy may have been keeping secrets from the two of them and the rest of the world, which possibly even led to her death, which the police suspect to be a murder case. Another key player in the narrative is Robert, played by Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), who, it appears from the trailer, was Nancy’s husband, but also seems to have a closeness to Eleanor that may prove integral. In good old-fashioned murder thriller style, everyone may be a suspect, with Apple TV’s logline teasing that: “guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unfolds, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.”
Who else stars, and is there a release date?
Leslie Odom Jr. (Glass Onion) is another notable name in the cast, alongside Corey Stoll (Billions) and Keith Carradine (Dexter). The eight-episode series will debut on 18th March, and you can watch the official trailer below.
