The Handbook
The Handbook

Blue Monday: supposedly the most depressing day of the year. It’s the third week of January, we are back in the full swing of work, have no holidays booked for months, our glasses are dry and our bank accounts are too. Ok, ok, perhaps we’re wallowing too much – it’s not that bad. Especially when we have free pizza, free prosecco, free flowers, free massages, free comedy and free gin to get us through. Happy Monday!

Kensington Place

Free Fizz

On Mondays, Kensington Place sell their wines at retail price (because we all need a little cheering up on a Monday), but on Blue Monday they’re going even further and will be adding in a free glass of sparkling wine with your meal. All you need to do is quote Blue Monday when you book!

Finch's

House of Happiness

Is Blue Monday really the most miserable day of the year or just a self-fulfilling prophecy? Who knows. All we do know is the that Finch’s at Finsbury Square, Moorgate will be transformed into a ‘House of Happiness’ for one afternoon only on the 16th January. As soon as you step in, your bags will be taken away and in their place you’ll be given eye masks and slippers. Snuggle up under a blanket and read your book, get a massage, have your beard groomed, decorate a cake, write a letter or listen to a happiness talk – there’s a whole host of hygge activities. The best part? It’s free and you get a goody bag – hurrah! Make sure you give them a call to reserve a space…

Wahaca

£1 Tacos

So yes, we’re talking about Blue Monday, but what about Tuesday? Quite possibly the worst day of the week – you’re still far from the weekend and you don’t have the Monday ‘first day of the week’ excuse. Which is why the guys at Wahaca are bringing you £1 Taco Tuesdays throughout January! Whichever Wahaca you go into on a Tuesday you can order your first plate of tacos for just £1! Nice one.
