We’ve scrolled our favourite online brands to edit out the chicest, from bold stripes in candy colours to ditsy flower prints and retro chequerboard designs. Go big or go home with our favourites…
Cushions really are the accessories to your living space, and just like a perfectly finished outfit, they have the ability to transform a room. Cushions are perhaps the easiest ones to use – not to mention relatively affordable – and there are so many brilliant brands around right now doing them with aplomb.
Striped cushions are Colours of Arley’s signature piece and come in satisfyingly plump-sizes and rainbow hues. We love them paired with a contrasting print for an eclectic feel.
First up, Colours of Arley, the London-based interior design brand and fabric line that you may be familiar with if you’re a fan of the nothing-short-of-epic RIXO flagship store in Kensington. Their striped cushions are their signature piece and come in satisfyingly plump-sizes and rainbow hues. We love them paired with a contrasting print for an eclectic feel.
Then there is Stoff Studios, another London-based brand founded in 2015 by Carys Briggs, a textile designer who trained at both the Royal College of Art and Central St Martins. Her pieces use traditional techniques like screen printing, which gives them a unique, one-of-a-kind feel. Her “Sunne” bolster prints bring a little Amalfi Coast-inspired interiors to a bed or chair. Plus, everything is made in small batches making them a sustainable option.

Then there is Ottoline, a brand specialising in beautiful prints made into fabric, wallpaper and soft furnishings. Their Madame Ziggle print has been sitting in our online basket for months, with its charming mix of wiggled lines, polka dots and a green and pink colour palette. Divine.

Whilst those are our wish list brands right now, the high street also has some great options if you’re on a budget. Look to Mango for nautical stripes that will give a white sofa a beach house vibe; La Redoute for joyful prints that will bring some dopamine colour to your home; and Zara for their recent collaboration with Collagerie which hits the nail on the head if you’re after a bit of minimalism-meets-maximalism, blending together the cool calm aesthetic of Zara Home with the latter’s colour-drenched, retro graphics. The colour-blocking wool cushion would look great against this season’s moody chocolate brown interiors trend.
