Natasha Lyonne Returns To Solve More Mysteries In Poker Face Season 2

One of the most enjoyable new shows in recent years is back for a second season: Poker Face, the crime-mystery comedy series starring Natasha Lyonne, recently returned to screens on Sky. It sees the return of Charlie Cale (Lyonne) as she sets off on the road again for a new group of amateur detective cases that she just can’t help but fall into. Starring big-name guest stars like Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) and Katie Holmes (Dawson’s Creek), here’s everything you need to know:.
What is Poker Face Season 2 about?
Poker Face first debuted back in 2023 from creator Rian Johnson (who’s best known for the Knives Out film series, which he directs and writes) and quickly found popularity for its new take on case-of-the-week detective shows. Russian Doll star Lyonne’s Charlie is quite different from your usual investigators, partly because she’s an amateur detective and partly because her look and persona are a far cry from, say, Sherlock Holmes. Season 2 follows Season 1’s same basic premise: casino worker Cale heads off on the road in her stylish Plymouth Barracuda and finds herself solving mysteries that seem to just fall into her lap.

This time around, Charlie is still on the run, trying to avoid shady figures who are pursuing her across the country, but she’s settling more into her time as an investigator for hire. She’s armed, of course, with her incredible knack for detecting when someone is lying, without fail, which helps her shake down suspects as she pieces together a mystery. There’s plenty of new cases this season, of course (too many to get into), and plenty of variety to keep Charlie (and you, the viewer) on your toes.
Who else stars, and where can I watch?
This season sees several more big stars appear in guest roles, like Erivo, who plays multiple roles as five identical sisters. Katie Hopes is another notable name who pops up in this season, alongside Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), John Mulaney (Big Mouth), Richard Kind (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Justin Theroux (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Jin Ha (Pachinko), Haley Joel Osment (Somebody I Used To Know) and plenty others, all usually playing kooky and quirky characters that Charlie bumps into. The first three episodes of the series dropped on 8th May, but will continue releasing weekly on Sky in the UK.
