From jeans and a pretty blouse to floaty Chloé-esque ruffled dresses with an oversized denim jacket, there is one colour combination we want to wear on repeat this season… say hello to pale blue and chocolate brown.

Whilst the French fashion house sent mille feuille dresses of cornflower blue down the runway with a juxtaposing flash of rich brown, we’re reinterpreting the look in a much more wearable way with classic denim.

The two shades work perfectly together – the soft pretty shades of blue, grounded by earthy neutral tones of brown. And who can deny the wearability of a great denim look to take you from office to dinner date looks, weekend walks on chilly days and beyond?

Start with the denim, be it a pair of this season’s much-loved barrel jeans or a ’70s-inspired maxi skirt, and add to that chunky roll-necks in rich chestnut or a pretty frilled evening top in barely-there brown.

Suede jackets are everywhere right now, playing into the Western trend that looks set to stay, but also offering something super wearable, to layer over crisp blue shirts and mid-wash denim. Accessorise with boho tasselled bags and this season’s shoe du jour, the leopard print flat.
