From charming dinnerware to Western-inspired prints and soft furnishings that bring a touch of refinement to a room, equine interior details are everywhere right now. While the look was once considered traditional (and, let’s be honest, a little stuffy), it feels like a completely reimagined trend for 2026. Are we officially in our Horse Girl era?

The equine trend in fashion is nothing new – just look at Gucci and Hermès, who built entire empires out of horsebits and saddlery. Even fashion favourites like Chloé and Stella McCartney continue to flirt with equine aesthetics season after season. Then, of course, there are the A-list “Horse Girls” like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who have solidified riding as the ultimate cool girl hobby.

In interiors, the look used to scream either “horse-mad woman” or, worse, just “money!” But for 2026, there is something quite cool and charming about the latest iteration of the trend.

Entering the Year of the Horse has certainly played its part, but there’s also no denying that horses are majestic and magical creatures that bring a refinement to a home. The best way to make the trend work is a gentle approach – think a trot rather than a gallop – it’s all about subtle touches that will add personality and charm to a space.

Start with your walls. Tuftluck Studio, founded by artist Kara Rose Marshall, creates whimsical pieces that lean into Western, rodeo, and a 1970s aesthetic. The point of difference here is the medium; her large-scale pieces are worked in soft watercolours and ink, offering a much more fun, modern feel than a dusty old oil painting.

Kara’s ’70s rodeo-esque pieces feel much more fun and modern than a dusty old oil painting.

Cowboy narratives and horse motifs feel right at home in children’s bedrooms, from artwork to bedding and whimsical wallpapers.

For soft furnishings, there are some incredibly sweet pieces on the high street right now. Look to Oliver Bonas for affordable cushions and throws in earthy terracotta tones. And Anthropologie for their horse drum lamp, featuring rich burgundy accents and cream horses adorned with polka dots and stars. It’s utterly charming and fun, and would look brilliant perched on a console in the hallway, a bedside table, or even in a children’s bedroom.

Finally, we’re loving the equestrian nods appearing on dinnerware, too. Ichendorf’s glass pitcher, featuring a tiny rearing chestnut horse inside, is guaranteed to be a conversation starter at your next dinner party. Head to Maison Flaneur for something more tongue-in-cheek. We love their “Horse Girl” slogan plates, perfect for serving canapés, a quick “girl dinner,” pasta, or hanging on the walls as artwork in their own right.
