We Talk Enduring Style With Influencer Yatri Pabari

London-based influencer, Yatri Pabari, describes her style as “rotational, minimal and classic,” and we couldn’t agree more. The womenswear designer-turned-content creator has one of those wardrobes that feels so modern, so fresh, so cool but doesn’t play to trends or quick-wins. Every single piece is considered, and every item is a treasure to keep for years to come. She’s one of the quiet luxury pack and her Insta squares have been providing us with plenty of outfit inspo of late.
We sat down with Yatri to talk everything style, from the high street stores she swears by to where to buy great basics, what’s on her SS24 wishlist to why London fashion brand Raey has become a bit of an obsession.
What was your first memory of loving clothes and fashion?
I’ve always loved all things fashion and styling since I was little. My mum had a stylish wardrobe and I used to dress up in her clothes, especially her heels and trot around the house! I started wearing a lot of her clothes, and then adding them to my wardrobe in my late teens and early 20s. I guess that inspired me to study Fashion Design at university and go on to create my womenswear brand. I then fell into blogging naturally when it all started and have been in the social space since.
You’re known for your monochromatic colour palette. What’s your approach to using colour in your wardrobe?
I try and make sure the colours I choose harmonise well with the rest of my wardrobe, but making sure they’re still within the neutral spectrum so I know I’ll get lots of wear out of them. I do add some hues of colour to add some interest, but it’ll be a colour that’s quite muted rather than bright so it marries into my neutral wardrobe well.
Do you have any tips for when you’re in a style rut?
If I’m in a pickle of what to wear I usually go back to my styling content to see what looks I’ve worn and what I can mix and match. That’s why it’s great to document your looks just by taking a quick snap of outfits you’ve worn and really like to reference back on. Otherwise, I’m straight on Pinterest or opening my saved folder on Instagram of looks I’ve saved from my favourite creators.
What are your top stores on the high street?
Hands down COS and Massimo Dutti. Absolute go-tos!
Who do you think does great tailoring?
Raey, I can’t explain how well the pieces are cut, everything just feels amazing. And COS again, especially their trousers – chef’s kiss!
What’s your go-to for evening looks?
Raey has some beautifully made dresses, but on the high street – I feel like a broken record here – it has to be COS again and Massimo Dutti. They both have the most sophisticated, elegant and chic styles for eveningwear. Ninety Percent has stunning pieces that you can style casually and for evening too.
What was the last thing you bought?
I had my eyes on COS’s rope belts in black and cream, the cream was sold out online but I managed to grab the last one in one of their stores. Super happy about that.
Raey, I can’t explain how well the pieces are cut, everything just feels amazing on.
What’s currently on your wish list?
Raey’s Giant Pleat Trousers and Rounded Wool Suit Trousers.
Do you have any hidden gems you’ve discovered recently you can share with us?
I’ve recently discovered some stunning sustainable brands that need a lot more sharing. I love Ninety Percent, Soft Goat and Blacktogrey. Aligne has beautifully tailored pieces and has been doing great stuff recently. I know I’ve been ranting on about Raey so much, but it’s honestly a brand that’s just hit the nail on the head when it comes to style, fit and sustainability.
Let’s talk accessories. Which brands and pieces are you loving right now?
I haven’t stopped wearing my Senreve Belt Bag, it’s so convenient and made with vegan leather which I love. I’m also loving my J&M Davidson Baguette Bag. I have a real love for cross-body bags as I find they add a bit of ‘cool’ to a look whilst also being chic and practical for running around London.
Your style is always polished but looks comfortable. Is that very important to you when putting together a look?
Comfort is key. It’s another reason why I lean into oversizing, everything just feels so much comfier and looks stylish at the same time.
Where does great basics?
I love M&S for when you need those real basics for your wardrobe. You’re sure to get quality and you just can’t go wrong. Uniqlo is another favourite for those kinds of pieces too.
You can only wear one brand for the rest of your life… which and why?
That’s too difficult! Raey & COS for sure. They’re both the epitome of classic and every piece is cut and fitted to perfection which always makes me feel my best. And that’s what you want when you’re buying forever pieces – you naturally want to wear them again and again.
What are your top skincare heroes you couldn’t live without?
I love my Chanel SPF and Mecca Cosmetics SPF – both so so good. I’m loving Dr Sam’s Flawless Nightly Eye Cream. Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Toner and my absolute favourite, Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary Mist.
Who do you love to follow on Instagram?
I love Anouk Yve, her styling and wardrobe are just perfection and Donna Bartoli for all things health and beauty. She’s such an inspiration and a dear friend of mine. An absolute powerhouse of a woman.
