From wear-anywhere blouses to wedding guest-worthy dresses, summer denim to designer dupe swimwear, The Handbook’s Contributing Fashion & Lifestyle Editor, Astrid Carter, shares all the best Mango new-ins worth adding to basket right now.

Mango is one of my go-tos year-round, but I feel like they really come into their own come summer. More grown-up than Zara, and more pared back than Stories, their current collection is giving a designer feel at a high street price point. They’ve also recently had some major collaborations, from the tailoring-heavy pastel-hued dream of a Victoria Beckham collection – some of which is still available to shop, FYI – to the just-launched Siedrés X Mango partnership, which feels like a riot of crochet colour destined to be worn barefoot on the beaches of Ibiza.

Speaking of, the Turkish brand is known for its use of colour and sense of fun which runs through the entire Mango line. In all honesty, it’s usually a little Y2K for my style, but the cute co-ords in tropical fruit colour palettes, form-fitting dresses with very early noughties digital prints and more halternecks than I’ve seen since the ’90s have been done with great taste and flattering shapes. The standout piece is their knitted dress with 3D appliqued flowers. Hugely impractical for the day-to-day, but something I’d take on every warm-weather holiday to throw over a classic black one=piece.

Something that doesn’t deviate too far from my usual comfort zone is this pretty blouse with tie-front detailing, a vintage-inspired colour and delicate embroidery. There are few pretty white blouses I’ve met that I don’t like and always find them hugely versatile – wear alone with denim shorts or SS24’s much-loved striped trousers or a slinky slip skirt or over a nightie-style little white dress for Chloé vibes at a fraction of the price. And whilst I fully subscribe to the buy less, buy better school of thought when it comes to high street, I know this is a piece I will keep in my wardrobe forever.

Similarly, Mango currently has a buttermilk yellow waistcoat that is an elegant alternative to a going-out top, a quilted tie-belt jacket that is giving serious Marant vibes and a timeless but slightly retro pair of pink and white striped denim shorts – very Princes Di on holiday,

It is, however, the accessories that Mango is really nailing right now. From oversized raffia clutch bags – so much cooler than dainty mini versions and far more practical – to shell-inspired earrings that will spruse up a summer events dress you’ve worn countless times or add a playful charm to a classic white shirt.

I like to think of leopard as somewhat of a neutral but it’s no shock that the print is everywhere right now. This halter-style swimsuit is a nice spin on the trend – very ’60s Raquel Welch – and needs very little styling to ooze glamour. Just add a pair of plain gold hoops, a black sarong and sandy toes.

Mango’s floral, kitten heeled sandals will give summer looks a bit of a Carrie Bradshaw feel, from a pair of cropped jeans to this season’s return of the peddle pusher, long denim shorts to polished pleated skirts.

There’s something a bit Isabel Marant about this printed tote. Whether you use it for weekends away, at the beach, or as a baby bag, it will fit just about everything in there, proving style and function needn’t be mutually exclusive.
